Proudly Presents
1961 Chevrolet Corvette
Convertible
283ci - 2x4-bbl
General Motors now on their 8th year of the incresingly in demand Corvette has launched another beauty.
The 1961 model year poised for greatness with 7 engine choices, parade of options, nd 7 choice of exterior colors.
Chevrolet builtonly a total of10,939 Corvettes in 1961. That's not even a drop in the bucket considering that as an example in 1956 the same auto giant built over 1.6M tri-fives in that model year alone.
So, e understand Corvettes are limited production to begin with, ight?
Go a step further and note that finished in the beautiful Honduras Maroon exterior, here were only 1,645 cars. Now take into account that the total Corvettes built with the dual quad 4-speed 245hp out of all 1961 cars was only 1,175,Nearly half of the 270hp cars coming in at 2,827 built.Take the combination and the probability of the Honduras Maroon 1961 245HP 4-Speed Corvette is if but a few, ot to mention the few that have survived if any other than this one...
No doubt it's a good rare Vette!
But this Corvette is much more than that! It's a honest car.
The discriminating Corvette Fanatic will look for signs of collision accidents or body work. You won't find any on the 4 sides, his car has all the bonding strips from the factory clearly visible all around it. That in itself is a rarity.
The paint looks to be mostly original and like we said before, e don't believe this car to have been hurt ever in any significant way.
The driveline performs like this prancing boxer dog is just a puppy with plenty of goand energy.
Both tops are here and included with the Corvette.
There are no disappointments with the purchase of this 1961 Corvette. You will get an amazingly well kept car that will give plenty of years of pride in ownership.
As the 1961 hits the stage, here were a few notable changes from its predecessors and some changes that never made it to 1962.
Here are some listed for you.
It was the first Corvette to date without the heavy teeth in the grille area.
The headlight bezels were painted body color
