In Madison now, ast chance before putting in winter storage.
1) The 1971 Corvette being offered for sale is a factory built "economy model"... the drive train and engine are original... it is a numbers matching vehicle with a 350 ci engine, Muncie 4 speed M-21 transmission, nd a 3.08 rear end. All of the major components (starter, arburetor, nd alternator) are original to the car and were refurbished at the time of the engine rebuild. The engine rebuild did include a bigger cam so the mechanic claims it puts out more than 270 hp at the flywheel... although there are no dynamometer test results to confirm actual horse power. It does not have PS, B, r Tilt SW.2) The vehicle is a roadster, ot a convertible, eaning it was optioned from the factory with only a removable hard top... the vehicle does not have a soft top. The removable hard top was optioned with a black vinyl top. It is in very good to excellent condition.3) It is a three owner vehicle with the original owner stating that it was purchased at Thorstad Chevrolet (now out of business) in Madison, isconsin. The current owner has a complete set of records for the time that he has owned it (2000 to current). The only other paperwork that goes with the vehicle is the original build sheet which is not very legible as well as a list of the names and addresses of the three owners. The odometer shows 108,600 plus miles.4) Everything works on the car with the following known exceptions... the tires are slightly undersized causing the speedometer to register higher than actual speeds (the tires are at least 15 years old and need to replaced)... the trip odometer does not work... sometimes the high idle push rod fails to engage the choke during cold start ups... the parking brakes have all new components but do not set properly... the driver's "door ajar" switch has failed (but it is being repaired this coming week) causing the dash "door ajar" light to come on intermittently. There may be other parts that are worn and are subject to failure at any time. The vehicle is 44 years old; it comes with no warranty as to its body condition or mechanical condition.5) Although the car was repainted by the second owner more than 15 years ago... the major body and engine restoration work was done by the current owner in 2003 and 2004. This work was done in Madison, isconsin by either Nostalgia Auto or Capitol City Auto. Both of these businesses are still operating and are available to answer questions about the vehicle. The body work was a frame on restoration. The entire cabin has been restored with the rest of the work done from the "A" pillars forward to the front bumper. The vehicle shows very good to exceptionally well and really needs to be seen in person to judge its condition. If Greg is seriously interested in vehicle and wants more information, e should call me directly at 920-921-4292 to discuss it,
