1968 Camaro Survivor!
click picture to enlarge click picture to enlargeYou are about to view an absolute time capsule and a rare opportunity to own a very, ery original 1968 Camaro with full paper documentation.
Originally delivered to Clippinger Chevrolet in Covina, alifornia from General Motors Van Nuys Plant via pacific Motor Trucking Company on July 19, 968. Twenty days later, his blue beauty was driven away by its original owner Corrine Fernandez on August 8, 968 to her home in Hacienda Heights, ess than 10 miles from the dealership.
Now in San Diego, little more than 100 miles away from where Clippinger Chevrolet originally delivered this car, his 47 year old First Gen is still in fine original form.
Other than one repaint many years ago in the original UU le mans blue, ost everything is original to the car including both front and rear seats which have no tears or rips. The carpet is original (fading and some wear), oor panels, ackage tray, ash pad (no cracks), eadliner and visors (no rips). It's a numbers matching drive train that has never been out of the car with only 134,000 original miles. The inside of the deck lid and all the door jambs retain their original paint.
It's a 210 hp 327 with the original 2 bbl carburetor, riginal 3 speed turbo 350 transmission and original 10 bolt rear end. Everything works on the car including the Air Conditioning which blows cold, ower Steering, ll lights, adio, tc. The car runs, rives and stops great even with the 4 wheel drum brakes. It's a reliable driver that could be restored to perfection or driven for another 47 years as it is.
The body has some small dents and bruises from years of use but I have found NO rust anywhere on this car including all the normal areas where these Camaro's typically have rust issues and they're just aren't any on this body. Lot's of scratches and blemishes on the paint. The pictures make the paint look better than it really is so please look at the close ups carefully.
As you can tell from the pictures, he body is 100% original with no signs of any accidents or panel replacements. The floor pans, runk pan and quarter panels are all original and perfect. This car has never left Southern California and is as dry as they come.
The car retains all these original items:
Original AM radio
Owner protection plan document with stamped plate (protecto plate)
Owners glove box manual and original manual bag
Body Broadcast Copy (build) Sheet
Calif. Air Pollution pamphlet
1968 State of Calif. DMV Dealer's Report of Sale number document
Copy of Freight Bill from GM to Original Dealer Clippinger Chevrolet
Reg slips from several previous ownership dating back to early 1990's
Both original CA DMV issued Black license plates with both original Clippinger Chevrolet license plate frames
Solid car with solid paperwork. Please email me with questions or if you would like specific photos of any area of the vehicle.
