There is little doubt that the 1955 Chevrolet is one of the sharpest looking cars ever to come out of Detroit. With styling that many compared to contemporary Ferrari designs of the day, ombined with the introduction of the legendary small-block overhead-valve V8 engine and improvements to the suspension and ride, t is easy to see why these cars were America’s best seller that year. Add to that the two-tone color treatment of the Belair, nd the package was complete. From the start Chevrolet’s V8 has been a favorite with those looking to squeeze out a bit more performance than the original design allowed. Developed and marketed in the early 1960s, he Sparco Supercharger is just one horsepower booster that was fairly successful, o much so that for a time, one other than Carroll Shelby took an interest in this company’s products.

This 1955 Bel Air Convertible was Treated to a full, omplete restoration, his India Ivory and Gypsy Red convertible really drives home the reason America fell in love with the Belair for 1955. Expert craftsman worked this body over and made sure the panels were a smooth as silk and that the body components were proper installed with even gaps all around. Interior appointments harken back to those halcyon days of the 1950’s with authentic materials used for the seats with the only visible upgrade being a modern radio and tape play installed. Under the hood is clean but the observer is sure to notice the Sparco Supercharger. This vintage piece of speed equipment is from the early 1960’s and has been professionally installed and tuned for maximum output. Speed and beauty are both rolled into this one package.
