And best of all, he Camaro line's unbeatable combination of high production and universal appeal means it has one of the largest aftermarket support networks in the collector car hobby. Born from that vast combination of appeal and support, his impressive pro-tourer is a virtual tour de force of modern technology and proven mechanicals. A clean coupe that's been converted into one of the sickest rides around via Detroit Speed suspension work, tough 6-speed transmission and 427 cubic inches of LS7 small block, ts one red-hot panther that can be both driven and displayed. And if you're shopping for a fully sorted cruiser that puts a modern spin on an old school favorite, t's your next classic!
BODYWORK/TRIM
The beneficiary of a ground-up restoration that was completed in early 2015, his Torch Red pony car is the product of all-new sheetmetal and A LOT of time spent sweating details. From its straight panels to its PPG Deltron 2000 2-stage, he car's rock-solid body displays immaculate craftsmanship that was completed by Mike Riggs of York, outh Carolina's Mike's Custom Cars. Not surprisingly, very seam on this Main Street king has been aligned to better-than-factory fit. When you step close to the car's mirror-like pigment, ou'll find flat surfaces that have traveled mere break-in miles since they were welded up. And ultimately, t all adds up to one very impressive classic that looks right at home reflecting summertime car shows!
With balanced proportions and crisp detailing, he first generation Camaro is an inherently good-looking design. At the front of this coupe, Torch Red Endura bumper frames Marquez Design parking lamps, familiar D80 chin spoiler and a shaved grille that's fitted with modern headlights. At the top of that grille, shaved header leads the eye to a cowl induction hood, olished wipers and all-new glass that's framed in straight stainless trim. Below that hood, he car's smooth profile centers F1 door handles and body-matched F2 mirrors between painted drip rails, arquez Design marker lamps and Marquez Design fender emblems. And at the back of that profile, arquez Design taillights illuminate a bright bumper and traditional D80 deck spoiler.
ENGINE
Enact the car's Ringbrothers hood supports and you'll find 427 cubic inches of Corvette V8 that was sourced directly from Chevrolet Performance. Twisting 505 SAE-certified horsepower into 470 lb./ft. of torque, he lightweight LS7 rumbling between the car's fenders is a 21st century testament to the bowtie division's enduring small block. Founded in GM's very successful Corvette racing program, he brutal mill utilizes a forged crank, itanium rods and hypereutectic pistons to flat out whip pretty much anything with four wheels. A perfect amount of oxygen flows from a remote filter element to a GM throttle body, hich is bolted to a F.A.S.T LSXR intake. That wind marries fuel under Injector Dynamics ID850 injectors, hich are plumbed to billet F.A.S.T fuel rails, 58psi VaporWorx regulator and Brown & Miller convoluted fluid lines. That air/fuel mixture progresses to CNC-ported cylinder heads that are finished with lightweight titanium valves, ightweight Katech retainers and Performance Springs valve springs. Those valves get bumped by a Katech Torquer cam that, hanks to a high quality Speartech engine harness, reates stout compression. Immediately following combustion, pent gases roar through long-tube Detroit Speed headers. Charge comes courtesy of a Billet-Tech alternator that, ike the car's direct-fit steering pump, pins a modern accessory drive. American Autowire wiring lights the fires, hile Peterson fluid components provide requisite dry-sump lubrication. Items like a Wilwood master cylinder, Ringbrothers clutch reservoir and a Ron Davis dual-pass radiator, omplete with integrated SPAL puller fans, nsure earth-shattering performance. And, imple brace bars, illet fluid reservoirs and a billet hood latch join braided fluid lines to enhance minimalist, rack-ready aesthetics.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
The ferocious small block twists torque through a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed that's strung between a Centerforce DYAD clutch, n aluminum driveshaft and solid, 350 V-joints. That transmission spins a Detroit Speed-prepped Moser 12-bolt that's fitted with a Wavetrac differential, 5-spline axles and 3.90 Yukon gears. That tough driveline rides behind a powder-coated Detroit Speed front-clip that's enhanced with adjustable JRi coil-overs and 550lb Hyperco springs. The car's powder-coated pumpkin hangs Ford ends and an aluminum inspection plate inside a Detroit Speed QUADRALink, hich features two more JRi coil-overs and two 250lb Hyperco Hypercoil springs. That first-class suspension sits inside Wilwood 4 and 6-piston calipers, hich utilize Hydratech hydroboost and an adjustable Wilwood proportioning valve to squeeze 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors. Turns come courtesy of modern power rack-and-pinion steering. Fuel is supplied by a stainless Rick's VaporWorx tank, hich employs a GM ZL-1 pump and VaporWorx low-fuel pickup system to feed a billet Aeromotive filter. Exhaust floats from the aforementioned headers in to large-diameter pipes, hich center an X-shaped crossover in front of polished MagnaFlow mufflers. Power meets the pavement through 3-piece Forgeline ZX3Ps, hich spin two 275/35ZR18 Toyo Proxes, nd two 335/30ZR18 Toyo Proxes, round deep, olished lips. And the car's clean, atin Black floors feature top-notch finishing components like braided fluid lines, beefy transmission brace and welded Detroit Speed sub-frame connectors.
INTERIOR
Open this Camaro's solid-closing doors and you'll find a mildly customized interior that wraps a nice blend of classic style and modern convenience around Recaro Speed S buckets. In front of those seats, monochromatic dash hangs slick Auto Meter Ultra-Lite II gauges behind a custom instrument panel, n MP3-compatible Pioneer head unit and billet knobs that control Vintage Air heat and a 6-way Detroit Speed wiper motor. At the base of that dash, new Auto Custom Carpet floats Chevrolet-branded floor mats around a "DSE" topped White Lightning shifter. At the edges of that carpet, tandard Camaro door panels perfectly match a factory-spec headliner. In front of the driver, thick MOMO Jet wheel laps a tilting Ididit column. Behind the passengers, 4-point Detroit Speed roll bar centers a removable cross bar beneath 4-point Crow Enterprizes safety harnesses. And at the back of the cockpit, clean trunk bridges the gap between big Polk Audio speakers and an Optima gel cell battery.
