Poison Ivy
This is a rare opportunity to own a true piece of hot rodding history. This car was found in a barn on a blue berry farmin northwest Indiana where it satundisturbed formany years. The car is a 1952 Chevy that was custombuilt in the 1970s inIndianapolis Indiana and was used as a show car. Thisis a genuine hot rodall the way.. from the vintage hand pin stripe and realglass swirl shift knobdown to the CommanderG78-15 wide white tires. The story... Iown Scottie's Speed Shop in Demotte Indiana, ne daya man in his late 70s stops in and asks us if we can fix a tire for him. As we are fixing the tire he says I see you like old cars.. Ihave aold car. I asked him what he had and he said a1952 Chevy. He said if I wanted to see it he would meet me at the farm. My son and I met him there and walked down to the barn. When we opened the door there she sat.. dry, covered up and sitting on a concrete floor. As we uncovered the car you couldsee, mell andfeel thecar was special. Real, genuine, ustomworkmanship is everywhere on the car.We bought the car, railered it back to my shop and carefully cleaned the car. After the carbs were rebuilt and installed wecleaned the fuel tank and fuel system, hanged the cap, otor, oints, condenser, lugs, ires, uel filter, nti freeze, an belt, ir filters, &N oil filter, resh oil, rease job, lushed and filled the rear differential and gear box and installed a brand new interstate battery, rimed the carbs and she fired rite up. The car has dual Rochester carbs, delbrock intake, enton true dual exhaust, ccel Super Coil, emote oil filter, hrome air cleaners and a chrome valve cover. The engine has been modified and sounds wicked with theFenton headers, herry bomb mufflers and the chrome dual trumpet exhaust tips. The car is really quick for the weight of the car and wasn't just built for show... this thing will move! The car is a deep burgundymetallic withseveral customizations. To open the doors from outside you push on the body in a secret spot and the door will pop open..from the inside there are hidden buttons to pop open the driver or passenger door. The trunk also has a remote switch, he antenna is power and frenched in... it powersup when you turn on the working vintage Panosonic 8 track player, he hood has been filled in the center, he gas cap has been smoothed, ummy spot lights, smoothed trunk handle, all hand pinstriped lettering and stripes, ustom interior all professionally done with hand pinstriping on the dash as well, urst shifter with glass shift knob, ed crush velvet headliner, ustom made spare tire and steering wheel covers, wo extrabolt on rear spinners to use if you run the car without fender skirts, metal flake steering wheel and lots more. The car has some nicks and blemishes here and there that I feel show the carfor what it is.. a genuine honest hot rod that was built in a different time, simpler time. I personally would never alter the paint, veryone that sees the caragrees. I'm in the process of finishing a 1969 Super Bee and just starting a frame off on a 1969 GTO Judge so I've decided to sell the 52 and let someone enjoy, nd hopefully preserve the car for future hot rodders to see and enjoy. Items that need attention... The cartakes a few try's to start when cold because ithas no choke andthe fuel pressure regulator is very old, have never taken it apart but I'm sureitcould useto be rebuilt. As soon as she starts the engineis tight and strong, o smoke or funny noises. Go's into all the gears properly etc. If a guy were torebuild the fuel pressure regulator and do a final adjustment on the carbs and It will be fine. The brakes will pull to one side on heavy braking so I would doa brake job on the car or at leastadjust them. If you have any questions I will be glad to help. Thank You
