Description

ORIGINAL 1970 CHEVELLE SS-396

(PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD AND LOOK CLOSELY AT ALL PICTURES. MOST ALL YOUR QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ANSWERED)

This is the first time this Chevelle has ever been offered for public sale. I purchased this car from the original owner (a relative) in March 2005. He bought his new Chevelle from Fowlkes Chevrolet on Federal Hwy in Pompano Beach, L (a suburb of Ft. Lauderdale). The way you see her in the pictures is the way he sold her to me. Other than moving the car from a garage bay in South Florida to one in Northern Georgia, t has not been disturbed in ten years. There is an expired Florida tag on her from 1998 (so actually it hasn't been disturbed in 17 years). The car is 99% complete and original from top to bottom and from front to back. The drive train has never been modified and she has only received one repaint (factory color but unfortunately a lousy repaint). The following is a list of original paperwork that came with her and will be passed to the next owner (see picture below):

A laminated copy of the original title dated 3-17-70

All four original key plugs

Installment Sale Contract dated 3-17-70

1970 Chevrolet Pre-Delivery and Check Sheet dated 3-16-70

State of Florida Vehicle Safety Inspection document dated 3-13-70

***Fowlkes Chevrolet Invoice dated 3-17-70 ($4674.75 for a new SS-396??!!??)

Protect-o-plate dated 3-17-70

1970 Chevelle Owner's Manual

*** The Invoice lists the following optional equipment:

Whitewall Tires

Strato Bucket Seats

Door Edge Guards

Center Console

Sport Stripes

Turbo Hydra-matic

Power Steering

AM/FM Radio

SS 396 Equipment (F-41 suspension - discs, oxed control arms, 2 bolt rear, way bar)

4 Seasons Air Conditioning (still has belt attached)

Electric Clock

Rear Seat Speaker

Vinyl Interior

This Chevelle has 71,432 original miles. I do NOT have the build sheet. It could easily still be on the car as I have not torn anything apart trying to find it. The sheet should still be on the car but I can't guarantee it. Do you feel lucky?

The Cowl Tag reads as follows:

ST 70 13637 A 30639 BDY

TR 791 B80 B90 48 48 PNT

USA 249867 990596

Per the tag, e have:

(70 13637 A) 1970 Chevelle Sport Coupe assembled in Atlanta

(791) Ivory Bucket Seat Interior

(48 48) Forest Green Upper & Lower Body Color

As you can see in the pictures, minor restoration had been started and never completed by the original owner. He said to me that VERY little bondo was used. The following parts and pieces are included with the car:

The windshield and rear window stainless

The factory radio (cheap tape player left in the dash at no additional cost to the buyer)

Five original Rally Wheels w/four sets of trim rings and center caps

This Chevelle needs the trunk floor replaced. There is rust along the inside of the trunk lid so that will need to be replaced. The pan between the front bumper and the bottom of the grill is missing and the exhaust was replaced without the chrome tips.

Hopefully the pictures show just about everything you need to see. I do not have access to a lift so pictures of the frame and floorboards are impossible. The engine spins free but I have not attempted to try and start the car. I'm sure the tires are not road worthy so a trailer is essential.

My intention was a full frame-off restoration for this documented SS. It isn't going to happen anytime soon, o for the right price, t's yours. Please understand I don't NEED to sell her. She has her own garage bay and is not in my way. Even though the economy is still very soft I'm not going to give the car away. We all know this Chevelle (like many others) deserves a full restoration. I'm just trying to give someone else the chance.

NO TRADES!

Here's the part I hate to include but it's necessary. NO SCAMS!!!

**Don't contact me and ask if you can overpay for the car if I send you a check back for the difference. I'm gonna keep it all!

**Ask your wife, other, og, at or hamster for permission BEFORE you bid.

**A winning bid means you have contracted to buy the car, ot come and look at it.

**10% of the winning bid total is to be in my hands within 48 hours after the auction closes (cashiers check only). I do NOT accept PayPal.

** Balance of winning bid total is to be in my hands NO LATER than seven (7) days after the auction closes. Another cashiers check is fine but the funds must clear before the garage door is opened. I am located roughly 70 miles north of Atlanta, A.

**If more than fourteen (14) days is needed (after all payments clear) to pick up the car, ou MUST make arrangements. If fourteen (14) days pass after the payment clears and no arrangements have been made, torage cost will be $1,000 per day.

**Shipping is the buyers responsibility. I will help push the Chevelle out of the garage and to your trailer. The rest is up to you. A winch would be a good idea.

** E-Mail me WELL before the auction ends with your questions. The reserve price will not be shared so bid to win
