Car description

1963 Chevy Corvair Monza 900 - Automatic! This is a zippy little time capsule from the past that is fun to drive for the entry level classic car enthusiast. Everywhere you go you'll get compliments - I drive it every day for localerrands, each runs, inner, tc.The engine runs very well as I just had both carburetors rebuilt and installed ($1200 value). The gas tank was replaced in 2014. It starts on first crank and runs well as a new ignition was also just replaced. All of the mechanicals work well though the gas gauge needs to be synchronized and the radio needs to be reconnected. The body and overall condition needs some work depending on how you plan on driving the car. The top, hile waterproof and does not leak, ay want to be replaced - the bones are in fine working shape - it just needs a new rag ($300 on ebay!). The dashboard is a little funky and should be replaced (replacement only $288.50 on Clark's Corvair parts: Part No:C5800PF - very easy for theamateurto install) In terms of specific body work: There is a dent on the back driver side rear which needs to be pushed out, here is a small crack on the drivers side interior door and there are some places where paint is cracking and where the body has had some prior work. The back bumper has a small ding. These are all cosmetic and can beremedied by a body shop fairly easily and withminimalexpense. I think the car may not be anoriginalwhite, r at least at one point it was painted over the last half of a century, utnonetheless, he paint is far from perfect but perfect for a beach car. Don't forget - this car is over 50 years old!! I received anestimatefrom body shop here in the East End of Long Island for a paint job and body work bringing it to a "new-looking" condition for $900 - I'm sure it would be much less somewhere else.PLEASE email me with specific questions about the car. This is a fun ride for the guy who wants a beachcruiseror weekend driver without the stress. It's a reliable, afe, nd fun car to drive.Note: This car is for sale locally in East Hampton, Y. Come by and give it a test ride. We reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time if a seller purchases in person here.
