This is an extremely well engineered V8 conversion on a nice 1965 Monza convertible. Over 8000.00 was spent on the 4.0 range rover engine which is basically a reverse rotation Buick aluminum V8 built by D&D Fabrications. The powerglide transmission was recently rebuilt with a new torque converter with a mild stall. The radiator is mounted up front where the fuel tank used to be and the front cross member has been reinforced and modified to allow additional air for cooling. A fuel cell is located in the trunk still allowing room for some luggage. The rear mounted engine only weighs 30 lbs more than a stock Corvair engine and the weight distribution is excellent. The handling is excellent and stopping is effortless since the car has 4 wheel disc brake conversion from Corvair Motorsports. The frame and body were not hacked up for the conversion. I have owned Corvairs for 39 years including a Kelmark V8 Corvair which was plagued with cooling issues and differential failures. This car has none of those issues. I am comfortable driving it in Northern Virginia DC metro traffic with no overheating.I also have driven it from Virginia to Detroit for the Woodward dream cruse. The performance is comparable to a late sixties Camaro with a 327 Powerglide. The interior had been replaced with the correct Clarks reproduction seat covers and door panels. The top is power and works flawlessly. The body has a nice paint job and a solid body however, he rocker panels will need some attention. I do have complete full length rockers inner and outer that are available separate from the auction. You can not build this car for my reserve price or find a cleaner better engineeredV8 conversion I need to thin my fleet as keep adding to it. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
