Up for sale we have a 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS 396. In ’70 Chevy gave the Chevelle a new look with an all new grill and rear bumper. They also gave it a new look on the inside with a new dash and gauge panel. The one we have for you has the Matching Numbers 396 with the Muncie 4 Speed and the Correct 12 Bolt Rear End. Also this is a factory red car (code 75) with black interior. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, nterior, nd heartbeat of the Chevy, ut first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, perated, nd own our entire inventory, o consignments, nd only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, hat’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, ictures, r any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the Chevelle. When you walk around it the sides are laser straight with good fit of the panels. It has nice gaps and comes with the correct SS hood with the working Cowl Induction and hood pins. Everything is covered in the Cranberry Red that’s accented by the Black SS Stripes. At the time of the repaint they put the stripes under the clear to ensure a good slick finish. The paint has a deep rich shine that is smooth to the touch. All the glass in this car looks correct with good seals. When you look at the stainless around the windows and grill it looks very good. All the chrome on this SS looks good as well.
Next, e will take a look at the interior of the Super Sport. On the inside it’s all done in black. It has the correct bucket seats, onsole, nd Four Speed Shifter that also looks correct. The seats, arpet, nd door panels all look very good. As far as we can tell everything works as it should down to the key buzzer. When you look at the dash it has the SS gauge pack with the factory 5500 Red Line Tach. Also, his SS has the factory AM FM radio and the custom grip steering wheel with the working horn.
Finally, e will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it has the Matching Numbers 402. That is the correct motor for the ’70. Sometime late in ’69 Chevy started putting the .30 over 396 in these cars but left all the SS 396 badges. The engine is dressed with the factory style chrome valve covers and stock breather that seals to the cowl hood. This Trans is a M21 Muncie 4 Speed that’s mated to the matching number 12 Bolt Rear End. This SS has factory Power Steering and Power Disc Brakes. When you look under it you will see the front and rear sway bars. The floors are in great condition with no signs of any damage.
