The 45-year-old from Blue Springs, issouri, as been building custom rods and trucks since he was 16 and doing what he loves professionally for the last 12 years. This past December he joined forces with Jason at Rock's Rod & Custom in Raytown, issouri, here the two have been cranking out some interesting projects.Tim recently sold a '32 Ford roadster, hich was a nice finished hot rod, nd decided he wanted to build a "low-buck" classic truck, ut with a chassis that could cruise the fairgrounds slammed with 20-inch wheels. See, im's son Matt is into mini-trucks, nd he figured if he built something like this, t'd bridge that generation gap between the two as well as bring the old and new trucks together.Instead of finding a clapped out old truck to start with like he intended, im found a '56 Chevy that was in the middle of an amateur resto that had already been painted; new glass and rubber were installed along with being set up for a small-block and automatic; and it had a Camaro rearend under it.Out back he step-notched the frame, arrowed a 9-inch rearend, uilt his own three-link wishbone suspension system, f course included another pair of 'bags so the 20-inch American Racing Torq-Thrust IIs would tuck the fenderwells. The '93 Chevy 350 was rebuilt by Jason at the shop and runs vintage Chevy valve covers using adapters--it provides plenty of worry-free cruising. The paint wasn't quite up to par as far as Tim was concerned, o he decided to patina it for the barn-fresh look, ollowed by swapping out the cherry chrome grille and bumper for old painted ones and--bingo--the truck was done! 1956 ChevyCHASSIS/FRAME: stock/modified-kicked up front and rear, ocks Rod & Custom REAREND / RATIO: Ford 9in with 2.79:1 gearsREAR SUSPENSION: custom wishbone w/Firestone 'bagsREAR BRAKES: Speedway Motors 11" disc FRONT SUSPENSION: custom w/Heidts IFSFRONT BRAKES: TCI 11" disc STEERING BOX: rack-and-pinionFRONT WHEELS: American Torq-Thrust II, 8x8REAR WHEELS: American Torq-Thrust II, 0x10FRONT TIRES: BFGoodrich, 45/45R18REAR TIRES: BFGoodrich, 95/50R20GAS TANK: RCI, nder bedENGINE: 1993 Chevy 350 by Manns Speed ShopHEADS: stock VALVE COVERS: Vintage ChevroletMANIFOLD / INDUCTION: GM / Edelbrock 600cfm IGNITION: HEI HEADERS: block-huggersEXHAUST / MUFFLERS: custom mandrel-bent / Thrush TRANSMISSION: Raytown Transmission TH350BODY STYLE: 3100 StepsideFENDERS FRONT / REAR: stock steelHOOD: stockGRILLE: stock, aintedBED: stock BODYWORK AND PAINT BY: unknownPAINT TYPE / COLOR: patina by owner / turquoiseHEADLIGHTS / TAILLIGHTS: stock / stock BUMPERS: stock / Sir Michaels roll panGAUGES: stock AIR CONDITIONING: Air-TiqueSTEERING WHEEL: '65 MalibuSTEERING COLUMN: '72 C-10, iltSEAT: '85 Chevy benchUPHOLSTERY BY:GM MATERIAL / COLOR: cloth / maroonLOCATED AT OUR DEALERSHIPWE FINANCE/DELIVER AND SHIP WORLDWIDE
