1959 Cadillac 4 window 4 door series 62. We bought this car 2 years ago as a barn find stored since the mid-80's under car cover in the high desert of eastern WA. We came about this lead from a family member whom has known the original owner for decades. The car was stored in our shop until 3 months ago when we started working on it. My brother owns a classic auto restoration shop, e bought the car back to life. We have the car running/driving well enough to be loaded on a car hauler or trailer. This car is mostly original, eeds the new owner to do some mild work, hen on the road to enjoy. In the video we called it a 6 window, esearch shows it a 4 window, orry about the confusion. Mechanical
The car has 92,xxx miles on it as described by the original owner. WA state calls all vintage vehicles odometer exempt on title so there is no way to verify mileage. The 390 V8 runs excellent. Called 325 or 345 HP depending on the publication. The motor was properly started (new oil, il primed, tc) no smoke after sitting since late 80's early 90's. We took off the original carburetor (included with car in box) added an Edelbrock 600 electric choke to run/drive the car. The 390 was leak down and compression tested, ame out perfect. New plugs/wires/battery to get it running. We removed the original gas tank and replaced it with a new reproduction tank. The brake system needs complete rebuild. We tried adding fluid, ust comes right out the wheel cylinders, o there are no brakes at all with the exception of a working E-Brake. The motor runs well, he transmission shift great, he car moves around well under its own power, ust no brakes. The car appears to be very stock mechanically with the exception of dual glass-pack mufflers and the carburetor.
Body
This car is in excellent rot free condition. Painted in the early 80's, ar very straight with the exception of a ding on the passenger side rear quarter. Did not see any rust bubbles coming through, ould be very evident with a 30+ year old paint job. Paint job is driver quality. The glass looks good with the exception of the driver side door window which is cracked, t's flat glass easy to replace, he big wrap around expensive windows are excellent. The chrome is all original and excellent considering the age. The interior is original and should be redone. The white wall tires are a couple months old. We had the car on a rack, ooks great underneath, urface rust but no noticeable rot.
I have a clean clear WA state title in my name in hand for this car.
