Cadillac has built a reputation of building some of the finest American automobiles to date; that's what they started out building which is a passion that continues to this day. Known for big body luxury coupes and sedans, owered by American V8 horsepower and lavish interiors, adillac is the gold standard of American luxury. This 1934 Town Sedan is evidence to the company's long tradition of luxury. The car was purchased by the previous owner in 1999 and went through an extensive restoration of love and care. This awesome Cadillac was only sold to us due to the failing health of the owner under a promise to find a new loving owner for the car.
Painted in a brilliant shade of blue, his car transports the eyes back to the 30's. The paint is in overall very good condition with some signs of age and patina showing through, he car still shows extremely well considering the age. In 1934 Cadillac performed a complete overhaul of their line with completely different bodies and chassis. The series 355D was built by coach maker Fisher with an emphasis on streamlining the body panels and concealing the chassis as much as possible. Using higher quality materials and construction techniques the revised Town Sedan was better insulated from engine and wind noise. All of the body panels are in excellent condition, traight and true. Optioned with the rare dual side mount spares with body matching covers this car is not only beautiful but among the most desirable of this model. The rooftop is covered with a black vinyl that looks to have been replaced and is in very good condition, ith minor lead seams showing through. Both biplane front and rear chrome bumpers are in great condition show no signs of age. Still working, he tear drop guide multi-beam headlights are in place and in great condition. The gorgeous hood ornament adorns the chrome V shaped grill, oth in excellent condition. Attached to the rear beaver tail design is a store rack and trunk.
Taking a step inside the sedan the devotion to luxury is evident. Front and rear bench seats are covered in a handsome grey cloth, hich is in great condition and appears to replicate the original weave pattern. With a 136 inch wheelbase there's almost enough room for another bench seat, he distance between both seats is quite large. Most of the original interior chrome accessories such as the door handles, sh trays, nd light fixtures are still in place, s well as, n great operating condition. Matching the seats the headliner compliments very well in both material and condition. An original dashboard is still intact, s well as steering wheel and gorgeous Jaeger gauges. The gauges are in fantastic condition with the exception of an inoperable gas gauge. A rare optional AM radio is still in place.
Mechanically this awesome Cadillac was very advanced for its' period. a 353 cid Flathead Ford V8, here is plenty of torque to push the big Fisher body down the road. Fuel is fed to the engine thru an original Detroit Lubricator carburetor, hile cold air is inducted in a revolutionary new intake system that features ducting through the radiator. This new intake design allowed the air to be much colder before entering the intake manifold, ncreasing power. Mated to the engine is a 3-speed manual transmission, ith third gear used as an overdrive. Stopping the massive weight of this land yacht are vacuum assisted mechanical brakes. All 6 (including the spares) tires and wheels are in fantastic condition with only very minor evidence of wear. The wheels appear to be the original and the white wall tires are newer BG Goodrich 6 ply radial with plenty of tread left.
