Car description |

This is a beautiful and clean 1981 Cadillac Seville. It has been my daily driver during good weather months. It hasn't seen snow or salt under my ownership, nd I bought it out of Las Vegas so I don't think it ever has. There is not rust or rot anywhere. It has been repainted prior to me getting it. I believe the color is close to original, ut cannot be sure. The paint shines very nicely. It is a very nice job, ut not a show quality paint job. The interior is in fantastic condition. I replaced the cracked dash with a new one which was painted to match. There is one small split at the corner of the driver's armrest. There is also a crack in the plastic a-pillar inside trim piece. There is an aftermarket stereo which works nice. I replaced the dash speakers and all 4 speakers sound nice. The carpet is very nice. I purchased a new front mat off eBay. It was advertised as NOS, ut it wasn't. The back of it is crumbling and the carpet worn, ut I keep in place to protect the carpet underneath. The Sevilles were known for the dreaded HT4100 Cadillac engines. Those HT4100s probably got a bad rap and aren't as bad as people make them out to be, UT this car has the 386 V-8, he last of the Cadillac big blocks. It came with the 4-6-8 cylinder deactivation system. It worked flawlessly. However, disconnected it because I didn't like the looks of the plastic rocker covers which were enlarged to accommodate thesolenoids that deactivated the cylinders. I have all of the original parts if anyone would want to put it back to the way it was. It also has ice cold air conditioning. This car was very nice when I got it, ut I did a number of things to improve it and make it more reliable. New Hankook tires 2013.New cat to muffler exhaust pipe.New driver side exhaust manifold. All new gaskets.New timing chain and gears.New water pump.New power steering pump.New air temperature sensor.New intake manifold temp sensor.New alternator.New idler arm.New upper and lower ball joints.New shocks including new air shocks for automatic leveling in the rear.New O2 sensor.Recored radiator.New belts/hoses/cap/rotor/plugs/wires. New front rotors and pads.New power brake booster.Custom pin-striping added. You will see some pictures from when I purchased the car without the pinstripe. When I purchased the car it had 27696 miles on the odometer (I am sure this is 127,696). It now has just over 140,000 miles. I listed this for sale last spring when it had 130,000 miles, ut I didn't get the price I wanted. I put 10,000 enjoyable miles on it since then. I really like this car, ut I have a couple of other projects that I would like to put the money into, o am going to list it for sale again. If I don't get what I want, will just keep driving it. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like any specific pictures. On Jun-24-15 at 22:38:21 PDT, eller added the following information:
Forgot to mention: check engine light is on. I'm 98% certain it is the idle control switch. Runs fine without it, ut cruise control will not work. I have a new one to go with the car plus a complete Cadillac service manual.
