Up for auction is my 1971 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. One look at this stunning automobile and it is easy to see that it has been extremely well maintained and cared for since it rolled out of the factory 44 years ago. This beautiful car has had one re-paint in the original color of "Duchess Gold" about six years ago using a high quality base coat clear coat over a rust free body. The paint is high gloss and exceeds any factory original lacquer of the period with only a minor nick in a few places that you really have to look hard to find. The photos do not do justice to the true rich gold tones in the finish of this Cadillac. The stainless trim is near perfect and while the front and rear bumpers have some slight age patina. they still shine bright. The vinyl roof. also in a matching gold color called "Maize" is in amazing original condition. Once you step inside the car you feel as though you have time warped back to a 1971 Cadillac dealership. The interior is factory original and about as close to perfect as one could hope for. The seats are covered in brocade cloth with leather accents in the matching "Maize" color and are unblemished showing little to no wear. The carpet is plush and clean and maintains its rich gold color. the dash is immaculate with clear lenses and chrome accents that maintain their sharp finishes. The headlliner and door panels are also like new. All the power windows. six way power seat. nbsp;and power door locks operate. All four cigarette lighters work and even the clock still works! All lights operate as they should. including the cornering lights. and are bright and clear. The car is equipped with automatic climate control for the air conditioning and heating but does not operate as it should. (blows cold and warm. but without much force). A new compressor. drier and expansion valve were installed as well as being converted to r134A freon a couple of years ago. The original factory AM-FM Stereo radio with automatic signal seeking scan recently quit operating (even though it comes on occasionally) The radio itself is absolutely perfect in appearance with no pitting in the chrome buttons and knobs and has clear dial lens. I have not replaced the radio as I wanted to keep the car original and have not been able to find another that looks as nice as the one in the car. In the five years I have owned the car I have had it tuned up. oil and fluid changes done regularly. new master cylinder. alternator. new belts and hoses. replaced front brake pads and turned front rotors. repacked wheel bearings. replaced transmission fluid with new along with new filter. nbsp;new front and rear shocks. replaced the upper control arm bushings along with wheel alignment. I also installed four new halogen headlights for better nighttime visibility. (I have all receipts). The car is powered by it's orignal 472 V-8 which moves this car with no hesitation. The car starts right up and runs smooth and powerful and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. While driving down the road the car will maintain a straight path with no drifting and also will not pull when braking. In the five years I have owned this car i have had absolutely no problems with the engine and transmission and would not hesitate to drive this car across the country. I have put approximately 5. 00 miles on this car since I purchased it. mainly taking it to parades. car shows and cruises. This car always wins a top award in every car show it is entered and always gets honks and thumbs up of admiration whenever it is out. I have tried to be as honest as possible in describing this vehicle but please understand that this car is 44 years old and therefore what works today might not work tomorrow (and sometimes what doesn't work today might work tomorrow) It has been a true joy to own this Cadillac but I have reached that period in my life that I need to start finding a good home for this gorgeous automobile. My reserve price is way lower that what I have invested. so my loss will be someones gain. This vehicle is being sold as is and where is. Buyer is responsible for transport. Car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction early. Cash or bank wire transfers are acceptable forms of payment. Vehicle will not be released for pick up or shipping until payment has been received in full. Please call 785-539-2189 (evenings) for additional information. Don't miss this rare opportunity to own a beautiful example of automotive history.
