1993 Cadillac Allante Convertible
The Cadillac Allante is a two-door, two-seater luxury roadster produced by Cadillac from 1987 until 1993, with a Cadillac chassis and running gear with a body built in Italy by coachbuilder Pininfarina. 21,000 were built during its seven-year production run.
Exterior
Pearl Red exterior in excellent condition. The black canvas convertible top is in excellent condition; it isnot faded and the electronic features operate smoothly. There is a small piece of plastic edging missing along the back center of the convertible top. The trunk has a soft-close functionality that works great.
Interior
Beige leather bucket seats with power eight-way metaphoric adjustments. The seats are in very good condition, with no tears or stains. Power windows, seat adjustment, and power locks shown in the photos are all operable. The front dash is electronic and a center media/climate control dash is located to the right side of it. AM/FM stereo, cassette deck, and CD player are below. The speaker system provides incredible sound. There is also a trip computer that displays driver information and notifications. The center console/armrest lifts for storage and has removable dual drink holders. Below the armrest is another lockable compartment, where the gas cap release and trunk button are located. There is a small, lockable glove box on the passenger side. Each bucket seat has a leather pocket on the back, and there is storage space behind the seats. The shifter knob is center set and leather-wrapped. The interior of the trunk is immaculate.
Drivetrain
1993 was the final year that the Cadillac Allante was produced, and the year Cadillac debuted the Northstar V-8 engine, replacing the 4.5-liter V-8 formerly used. Fuel is delivered via electronic-tuned port injections. As with all other Northstar applications, the 4.6-liter V-8 was paired with the 4T80-E electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission. The Northstar engine featured highly efficient compound-geometry valve/port designs and "quiet coil" Direct Ignition System designed to operate at high rpm levels without loss of spark synchronization. The engine's dual-stream injector Fluid Induction System was another innovation. This system was isolated from underhood heat sources and cooled the fuel during operation, which enhanced performance. A paired 4T80-E transmission featured a controlled-flow, dual lubricating system that provides proper lubrication under all operating conditions. Free-wheeling clutches ensure consistent shifting quality.
Undercarriage
This car has been garaged most of its life and is very clean/rust-free. However, the car is 27 years old in original condition and the undercarriage shows signs of age. This vehicle is structurally sound and features road sensing suspension, speed-sensitive steering, traction control, and power disc brakes.
This car is in unbelievable condition, as the photos demonstrate. We have BOTH original sets of gold Cadillac car keys. It sat garaged for over 3 months at the beginning of the pandemic but started up immediately when I turned the key. All maintenance is up to date, and the tires are nearly new. Understandably, due to age, there are a few issues with the functions of the car: the antenna will not retract. There is a disc stuck in the CD player. (These stereos are long out of production, but are rebuildable for around $300.) Sometimes, the door-lock button on the driver's side sticks. Both seatbelts can be sticky at times and require a gentle touch. The seatbelts show minor soiling, as does the carpet mounted on the interior of the driver's side door and the passenger side floor.
