Car description |

Up for sale is a near mint 1987 Cadillac Allante. My father bought this car in 2006 from who I believe was the second owner and it has been garage kept ever since. The car has 39,667 original miles, 4400 of which were driven in the time we have owned it. The car runs and drives well, and everything works as it should, including the A/C. It is 100% stock and original aside from maintenance/repair parts that have been installed over the years. Please note that I didn't have the car professionally detailed or even waxed before taking the photos in this ad, its just that clean. Car has a clean CarFax report as well.
It developed the common Allante ABS and CPS issues last year so I took it to Dick Hussey at Allante Source and told him to go over the car from front to back. See the photo of the invoice for details. He said it is probably the cleanest original 1987 he has ever seen and that it is remarkable that it still has the seat belt retainers, the mini covers for the convertible top, and an intact overhead console. The car comes with the hardtop, stand and cover as shown in the photos. Also included are the owner's manual, original window sticker, and cassette tapes that came with the car.
The only issues with the car are a few paint blemishes as shown in the photos, a small ding in the center of the chrome strip that runs along the front bumper, a tear in the cloth storage cover for the hardtop when it is on the stand, and the plastic well that the convertible top stows in is cracked so the assist springs for raising and lowering the top have been removed. This is a very common issue with early Allantes, the top still functions correctly but is much easier to raise and lower with the help of a second person on the other side of the car. This can be repaired by installing the later revised boot well, but I didn't see the value in doing so when the top works fine as is and the damaged plastic is not visible.
My father passed away at the end of 2017 and I have found myself driving this car less and less, so it's time for it to go to someone who will appreciate and drive it more often. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I have a clean FL title in hand. The car is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells outside of the auction format. The car is located about 20 minutes north of Tampa, FL.
