All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. I can assist with financing and transport as needed.
The 1976 Ford Mustang? That came standard with a 140 cubic inch 4-cylinder and was 14.5 feet long. Ford was doing what they had to do in some lean automotive times. The 1976 Cadillac Coupe DeVille? Well that got you 500 cubic inches of V8 and almost 20 feet of car. Cadillac was doing what they always did, and doing it well.
This 2-owner car has logged only 25k miles since new. The long straight body wears the Chesterfield Brown Metallic paint very well, as the color seems to help conceal the car’s enormous proportions. The padded cabriolet vinyl top is a nice accent too. Underneath the car, the frame and floors display some surface rust but everything is solid metal.
The S-code 500 ci engine is Cadillac’s biggest ever with a 4.3†bore and 4.3†stroke. Rated at 360 lb-ft of torque, it gets this 5,200 pound behemoth moving just fine. The robust TH400 automatic transmission is well suited here too. The power steering has plenty of boost as do the power front disc brakes, making this car easy to operate (though small spaces still present a challenge). All four shocks were just replaced for a smoother ride.
The interior is magnificent. I have seen 2-year-old cars with more wear than this 44-year-old DeVille. It is finished in Antique Light Buckskin with woodgrain accents for a rich look. The leather seats are very comfortable with a soft texture, just what you’d expect from Cadillac. There are also folding armrests front and rear. The dash layout is very clean with a row of warning lights concealed along the top. The factory air conditioning is in need of a charge but is complete and unaltered. And the horn has the perfect sound for a land yacht like this one.
There is no mistaking this car for anything but a Cadillac. It is one of those cars everyone can identify with. And at this price point it represents a lot of car for the money. Just be sure to measure your garage before you go after this one.
