Car description |
---|
1972 Cadillac Eldorado hardtop coupe.
The good:The 500 ci motor runs and drives good. Was driven from Colorado to Wisconsin in September of this year. Made the trip excellent from what I hear. Power windows and sunroof work. Doesn't leak any fluids other than a little oil, but what old car doesn't? Trans recently rebuilt at a cost of over $2300 (I have receipts). Very little rust, as it was a Florida car most of its life. See pic above for only bad rust spot. It's on passenger side fender skirt.Only 99,000 original miles. Odometer works, and I believe the mileage to be accurate. Floors and trunk are rock solid.
The bad:Heat doesn't work, due to blower motor. Tires are ok . . . They hold air and aren't cracked too bad, but should be replaced. Radio is missing. Dent in passenger side front quarter panel (see pic). Interior is shot. Car sat for 10+ years (2003 to 2014) in the Florida sun. Seats need reupholstering, steering wheel is cracked bad, dash is cracked under the dash-mat, interior panels are junk. Missing trunk lock assembly.
The ugly:Original paint is peeling and vinyl top is trash. I peeled off some of it, and there's only surface rust under it. I said it before but I'll say it again, interior is shot.
Overall, it's not pretty. BUT she's a good runner and reliable. Would look great with a cheap paint job, good seat covers and a steering wheel cover, if you wanted to make a rat-rod-esque driver. Otherwise throw some tires on her, fix the heat and drive it as is. No reserve. Bought as a project but I have too many others and I don't want to store it this winter.

I will ship the car, but the buyer is responsible for organizing it.
