Car description |
---|
The Cadillac Eldorado Convertible was added to the Cadillac line in 1971, making the Eldorado the only personal luxury car in America with a convertible offering. The mechanicalof the '71 Eldorado are rock solid. The 500 engine and Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission have proven themselves many times over the years and if you want a big seventies convertible.
I purchased my 1971 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible I think in 1995 from my mechanic. At the time it had low mileage because my mechanic had multiple cars and did not drive this one a lot. Since, my purchase, I've had the car painted and the seats upholstered. Recently, new air shocks and a tune-up have been updated.
This is a strong, classic car that is only a few thousand dollars away from a great restoration. The following needs to be addressed or upgrades:
- There are a few paint spots from wear and a scratch on the driver's side door. This was due to me backing the car into the garage where it is kept.
- My tires are two years old with less than 500 miles on them. The carpets are beginning to show wear.
- The 'scis" convertible top come up a little out of align, but works great. I have a plastic rear window instead of a glass one.
- Choke is a little sluggish until it warms up. Gave thought to a new carburetor, but decided to let the owner save money doing it.
- Millage is 74,125
If I do the above repairs, I would charge a lot more for this American classic. My thinking is to let the buyer finish the restoration and that way this automobile will reflex their preference.
Since I've owned this car, it's been only driven during the warm months, and not in the rain. Car is always in the garage. I usually averaged one or two round trips from Los Angeles to San Diego. Also, if it's a beach day and I have time, the "Cad" and I are there (I live about 15 minutes from the ocean. This car has never failed to turn heads and would be a great for anyone interested in this kind of automobile
If interested, please bid. I'm not giving my car away, but will sale for my fair price. Utilize PayPal.
