Selling my 1959 Cadillac Series 62 that I purchased used in 1984 in Powder Springs Ga when I was 21 years old. She was my 1st love of Georgia. I bought it with around 80K miles and occasionally cruised it around town until 1988 and added about 1500 more miles to her. In 1988 I got married, Son was born, changed jobs, and moved from GA to PA. At that time I left the 59 at a buddy's house outside of Atlanta until I drove her from Atlanta GA to Charlotte NC in 1990. She has been garaged at my current residence since 1996. The odometer is no longer working but I'm 100% confident original mileage on the car is less than 82K miles. Odometer currently reads 81,343 miles.
Throughout the past 23 years I would occasionally start her, but as kids grew and life flew by she just sat inside the garage most of the time. The last 2 summers I brought her out of hibernation probably for the last time as her owner. I installed a new rebuilt correct Carburetor from Chuck Rosa @ Carburetors and More. The following parts were also installed new: Front Brake Wheel Cylinders/Rubber Lines, Tires, Battery, Wipers, and Fuel & Oil Filter. Oil, Transmission Fluid & Rear End Gear Oil drained and refilled.
This car is all original including the engine, transmission, interior, hubcaps and jack. I will honestly describe the complete car in 3 sections from Body, Interior and Mechanics along with existing problems that the new owner will want to address.
BODY: This car was in the South its entire life and is by no means a rust bucket, but does have its problems. The driver's side floor is the worst along with a section of right side of trunk floor. The rest of the interior floor and trunk floors have surface rust and thinning, but in my opinion will not need replaced at all. The frame and all other body panels on this 19.5 foot beast are in very good condition. The trunk, hood, and all 4 doors open and close perfectly and make "that" sound when closing that only cars of this area make! If you are looking to own this great piece of American history you know what I'm talking about. She has the original black paint and at one time a previous owner painted the roof white. I removed all exterior chrome around 1994 to prevent the spread of surface rust. Also both sides of FINS removed to prevent spread of surface rust, have all removed parts. It appears that the only minor body hit on the entire car was the right front fender as seen in the picture. Never any other body damage from road accidents. The front bumper is "tweaked" from a dumb ass young 21 year old leaving it on a bumper jack to long while doing a brake job. The rear bumper and all removed chrome is in good condition. The front passenger door sustained a mystery dent from being stored at my buddy's house. The rockers, frame and underneath are solid. All glass is intact, and front and rear windshields are excellent. Both fender skirts gone. Rust hole about 4 inches a round in bottom aft corner of passenger fender along with other small rear at bottom of RT Rear quarter I tried to include pictures of the worst sections of the car, although she is exceptionally straight on both sides and very solid.
INTERIOR: The interior is all original. Dash is cracking in many areas. Headliner and visors have holes and are needing refinished. Seats are in good condition for 60 years old, with lower sections of vinyl cracking. The 2 front side windows were cracked when I purchased car and after I removed the door panels to have them fixed the 2 front door panels cardboard got warped from being off the car for so many years, so they will need to be addressed. The back door panels are in very good condition. All carpeting was removed to prevent floor rust through. Steering wheel horn ring is off, but parts retained.
MECHANICAL: The 390 motor will start right up. The engine runs great and idles smoothly, the transmission seems to shift normally and gets me around town, although I haven't driven more than 3 miles away from home. I would recommend a good transmission fluid flush and filter change. The power steering works great but it is the most severe of leaks on the car, After sitting in garage idle for past few months it needed refilled and it appeared to be coming from the input shaft into the power steering gear unit. It also has minor oil and transmission fluid leaks. Dual exhaust was replaced in 1984, but will need to be entirely replaced again. Brakes working. Generator works great. Tail lights, turn signals and brake lights work, headlights were working when parked but aren't now. Interior dome lights work on back doors only. Power seat switches are intermittent in all positions. The window motors all work, front are fast and excellent, rear seems to need tracks lubed internally. Heater core bypassed, blower fan works along with wipers, radio, and some cigarette lighters. Power antenna is dead in up position.
The following new parts will be included in the sale: Rear Wheel Cylinders/Rubber Lines, Valve Cover Gaskets and PS Input shaft seal kit. I have the original owner's manual, owner's protection policy book and clean numbers matching SC title. She is currently registered, tagged and insured in SC. Car is located at my residence in Fort Mill, SC approx. 2 miles away from SC Exit 88 off of I-77 about 15 miles south of Charlotte NC.
My wife (Georgia Girl!) thought she would never see the day that I would depart with my beloved 59 Caddy, buy it's time to let her go. She needs a new owner, instead of just sitting in my garage not being appreciated. I feel I have included as much information as I can recall, but email me if you have any questions. I also have over 200 additional pictures if needed. Final payment to be made by certified check or cash

Failed to mention that the fender skirts were missing when I purchased the car in 1984. Below is also a link of the full history of the 1959 Cadillac, one of the most iconic cars ever produced in the USA.
