This is just another example of the extreme talent and vision of the automobile designer, Harley Earl. Restored over a period beginning in late 2011 and ending in 2013, this car was stripped to bare metal. It was completelydisassembledand all parts were media blasted. and painted. The car was originallyblack, but after consulting color charts for 1941 and many photos, it was decided to paint the car two-toned gray with Vincennes red wheels and pinstriping. In 1941 there were only 1900 coupes built. The hydromatic automatic transmission makes the car even more rare. The flat head engine that produces a brake horse power of 150 @ 3400 rpm, was used in tanks in WWII. It has a Stromberg AAV-26 carburetor. The current owner purchased the car from a doctor in Florida who had purchased it from the restorer in Houston Texas who is a member of the Cadillac Lasalle Club of Texas. . He purchased the car after it had been in storage for over 30 years. Everything was replaced or rebuilt on this car. All rubber is new, the chrome has all been redone, and all hoses and fuel lines were replaced. The interior was stripped down to bare springs an re-bagged with cotton, replacing the original burlap. Lovely two-tone gray leather was installed and hand sewn.All worn out fastenersin the car were replaced wit stainless.
