The leg room and leather seats are so comfortable. and inviting. you just can hardly tear yourself away from a cabin interior that wraps you in such luxury. If this car went to a car show. it would win "Best of Show. "David Givler. a lawyer from Aurora. Illinois originally bought the car brand new. He traded in his 1981 Cadillac Seville with only 11. 72 miles on it. on September 27. 1983. In those days he was semi-retired and spent the winters in California and the car remained garaged during the winter. He passed in 1991 and his daughter took over ownership of his pride and joy. and it was shipped by rail to Southern California. where it has remained to this day. The car quickly became her pride and joy. She took care of it as if keeping it for her father. She one day backed into a truck and dented the trunk. she had to replace the lid. At the same time. as noted to older Cadillacs. the rear rubber plastic bumper inserts become old and crumbled. so at the same time. both rear rubber inserts were duplicated in hard plastic. so not to ever deteriorate so quickly. The paint and pin striping was matched and sealed. The car was never been smoked in. or eaten in. The car has never been driven in bad weather and driven with respect. There is no rust. anywhere. no dents. no nicks or scrapes. The radiator was re cored in the year 2000. the muffler was replaced that same year. The air conditioning system was updated to the new refrigerant requirements in 2008. Front shocks in 2013. The transmission was completely rebuilt just about a 1. 00 miles ago. The owner has all the maintainence records. owners manuals and service tech manual and the original window sticker stating the accessories and the price of the car when new. The daughter now in advancing years. passed and so her husband took over the car and now has decided to present it and sell it for the first time. The pictures tell a story of love and care of an automobile unparalled in automotive history. If there was a time. that you wanted to find. a modern classic. then. this is the car. They don't make them like this anymore. and I suspect. they never will. The very last of a great American Motor Car. "What Cadillac was doing in 1984"The nineteen eighties had it's good times. Things looked good. It seemed prosperity was around the corner. Cadillac was busy and was anxious to put out the new front wheel drive cars and their target year was for 1984. but they were not ready yet and put the front wheel drive car out in 1985. 1984 had its changes too. It would be the last time the "V" emblem would be used below the Cadillac Crest. as 1985 Models and on. would use the wreath emblem in it's place. Body side moldings and gold tone winged crests on the parking lamps up front and tail lights in the back. Hidden changes included a revised exhaust system with a revamped catalyitc converter. Cadillac had a production of 107. 20 DeVille four door sedans built for 1984. The new front wheel drive Cadillacs came out 6 months earlier in the spring and so Cadillac offered the 1984 rear wheel drive and the 1985 front wheel drive Cadillac. with both model years being sold together at the same time.
