Beautiful. meticulously maintained. freeway driven. totally stock and original. rust free. great running and driving 1977 Cadillac Seville that was owned by a retired 2 Star General and former Air Force test pilot (check out the Nellis AFB sticker on the front bumper - 2 Stars) and has spent almost 30 years in the dry. desert climate of the Inland Empire of Southern California and Southern Utah. He used it to frequently drive across the country and to the Pacific Northwest and back. I am the Ebay go-to guy in the neighborhood so I'm selling it on behalf of a dear friend (his widow). He passed away in December. 2013 from an aggressive form of cancer. And when I say meticulous. I'm not kidding. Air Force veterans have told me that's the way their pilots are. I have a 2 inch thick file of receipts and detailed notes written by the General regarding upkeep and repairs. The depth of record keeping is incredible. When they purchased it in 1987. it had been owned by a little old lady since new who had only driven it 27. 23 miles in ten years. Mechanically. it's in excellent. original condition. It burns no oil and drives wonderfully on the freeway (and around town as well). Based on the receipt history (see below for an excerpt). the odometer has most likely turned over twice. If that is correct. you would never know based on interior/exterior condition and how it drives. Overwhelmingly diligent maintenance and almost all freeway miles (virtually wear-free) are clearly in evidence here. The only flaw I can find is a minor exhaust leak. These Cadillac's came from the factory with fuel injection which gives them a civility rivaling today's cars. It starts. runs. accelerates. shifts. turns. brakes and stops extremely well. And it still drives very tightly/solidly with no rattles or squeaks. Also. a new HEI ignition system was just installed and both fuel pumps were replaced. Talk about an awesome. classy. practical. low-maintenance. vintage daily driver. The body is in great condition with no accident history and original paint. The vinyl top has aged well but has some light sun cracking (barely visible). The trunk is pristine and still has the original space-saver spare tire (see pics). The undercarriage still looks great. About the only body flaws are some easily replaceable. brittle plastic molding (the downside to a dry. desert climate) pieces that have broken away between the bumper and body in the rear and light surface rust in several places where the paint has simply deteriorated after 38 years (see pics). There is no rust-through (nothing even close) anywhere. Notwithstanding paint wear. the body itself has aged exceptionally well. And all the hard-to-find trim is still there and in great shape. Other than a few dash cracks (replacement dash cover included) and worn fabric trim around door frames. the interior is in excellent. original condition. Doors open and close solidly. Electric windows roll up and down smoothly. Seats. carpet. headliner. door panels. etc. . are in great condition (see pics). Everything works well other than the antenna (won't go up/down) and digital clock. The AC compressor works properly and the system has just been recharged so it blows nice and cold (putting out a steady 55 degrees at the vent when parked and even cooler at freeway speeds). And the original radio was long-ago swapped out for a Pioneer cassette deck. This Seville is a great collectible for someone who wants to drive it regularly and enjoy it. Since it already has higher miles a prospective owner can have no concern about adding more. The challenge with lower mileage collectibles is every time miles are added. value is reduced. You won't have that issue with this car. Just food for thought. My name is Chris and I am happy to answer your questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. I also have tons of pictures that show every nook and cranny in great detail. Send me your email address and I'll get them to you. And you may want to consider flying in and driving it home. That would be a blast and I'd be happy to help facilitate it. This sweet 1977 Cadillac Seville is located in the dry. desert community of St. George. Utah (a little over 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Good luck and good bidding. Just an addendum. Below is a partial list of some of the maintenance records in the 2 inch thick history file.
