Car description

1967 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 informal limousine (no divider) 1 of 853 built. The Fleetwood 75 was top of the line Cadillac. base price in 1967 was $10. 60. one of the most expensive American cars you could buy. Paint is #16 Regal Silver w/ #719 Medium Grey Broadcloth interior-- that is the original color combination. Very unusual color combo for a limousine. most were black or dark blue. I have seen only one other 67 or 68 like it. 81189 original miles. 429 V8 w/ 340 horsepower. TH400 Auto trans. Standard features and options are:Power steering. power brakes. power windows. 6 way power front seat. rare AM/FM radio. automatic level control (air ride. on rear). map light. triple trumpet horns. separate front & rear heat and A/C systems. nbsp;rear jump seats. Dor- Edge guards (dealer installed option). Car also has aftermarket cruise control and is wired for TV (does not appear that there was ever a TV installed). There is a working cassette player in the glove box and there is a CB antenna in the trunk. Cassette player probably replaced the CB. I am not familiar with those though. This car is equipped with tons of features and conveniences that few cars of this time period had. I have owned this car for several years and have put about 2500 miles on it. It is an excellent. reliable driver and I use it fairly frequently in nice weather. I have spent a lot of money on mechanicals to make sure it stays in good driving condition. some of which is listed later in the auction. Have receipts for everything. You can hop in and go. I'd feel comfortable driving this car just about anywhere. Plenty of power with the 429. even with the weight (5500lbs) and size (20 ft 5in long). It handles well. Gas tank is 26 gallons and it gets about 10-12 MPG city. you can get better mileage out of the 429. just never worried that much about it. No know issues or problems with engine. trans. or driveline. It has the very common small rear main seal leak. you get about a silver dollar sized or so little pool on the ground after it's sat a few hours after driving. Mileage is actual. Interior is in outstanding condition. It is about 90% original. the only things not original are the bottom fabric on the rear seat and the windlace around the doors. The fabric on the top part of the center of the front seat (above the armrest) I think is replaced too. That was done by the previous owner. It has a factory special order leather front seat. The Fleetwood 75 informal limos usually came with cloth front seats. Original dealer option Cadillac floormats. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer original interior on a 48 year old car. Seats are soft and supple. It sits 8 if you use the jump seats. Dash pad like new. Steering wheel like new. Does not have the typical surface rust on the gauge cluster. Everything works (except for clock). including the AM/FM radio. sounds great. all functions and antenna work. So does the rare 3 note trumpet horn. The clock works. have tested it outside of car. so a ground issue. Can fix this if important to the buyer. The aftermarket cruise control doesn't work. I never messed with it because I have no use for cruise control. It may be as simple as a fuse. I do have the original manual for it. looks like it was installed in the early 80s. The only flaw in the interior is a small tear on the back of the front seat. that is hidden by the jump seat. This can be remidied cheaply by a one of those vinyl or leather repair guys. The front climate control system functions correctly-- heat & A/C work. A/C blows cold. Have used the system many times and been pleased with it. Probably time for an A/C recharge as it has been awhile. A/C was cold when I last used it (before winter). but not "ice cold. " A/C converted to R-134. The rear system come on but only blows lukewarm air no matter the temperature. I never needed to use the rear system so I didn't ever worry about this. It could be a blocked heater or hose or possibly the transducer. I am going to include Cadillac Tim's excellent repair manual on the 64-68 climate control systems. which will tell you how to diagnose and repair this. If this is an issue for the buyer I can look into it. I do not think it will be a difficult repair. Car has older lacquer paint. If I had to guess I would say it was done in the early 80s. based on the history of the car. It's still shines and look nice. in my opinion excellent for a driver. I personally don't want to worry about a perfect. expensive paint job on a car I regularly use. It needs some touch up in several spots. The chrome and stainless is all original and all in excellent condition. The driver's side lower quarter needs rust repair on the bottom few inches. where these are prone to rust. I am including another quarter panel skin for the repair. The passenger side needs 2 small patches also. one about 9in long by 2in high & the other 2x2. I would figure on repainting both lower quarters below the side trim. it's a small area and you don't want to blend that. It also has the very common rusted out body mount supports in the trunk. Snow or water is kicked up and lodges in these areas. The trunk and the rest of the underside of the car is extremely solid. except for the support area. These parts are reproduced so I am including new ones. they just need to be installed. I will also include an entire trunk floor so you have everything needed for the repair. I was planning on doing this but never got around to it. I am on to other projects now. This and the touch up is really the last thing the car needs. I'm a perfectionist and have tried to work out ever other bug or issue that I could find. Unless you want to repaint and make a show car. I have the original owner's manual. warranty book w/ Protect-o-Plate. options brochure & Cadillac envelope. I also have the 1967 brochure and the Fleetwood brochure plus the shop manual. I have a basic history on the car since new. also the original owner's name. As mentioned above it runs & drives great and has been very reliable. Here is some of the work that has been performed and new parts. Please contact me if you want a complete list. The max use anything on here has is 3k miles. I have all receipts and some from the previous owner:*engine compartment extensively detailed. most of frame painted and some of undercarriage detailed. trunk floor painted*gas tank removed. cleaned. painted. new sending unit. *new front shocks (2010) *new Monroe rear air shocks. (2013) The auto level system has been converted to manual. air is added through a nipple in the trunk. Probably the compressor needs rebuilding *if you want to go back to auto. Manual made more sense to me as I rarely carry heavy loads and could adjust height if wanted. *NOS radiator cap*starter *new battery and battery cables*rebuilt steering gear & rebuilt steering pump & new lines. (2011)* front brake hoses & front wheel cylinders (2011)*rear brake cylinders & 1 rear wheel cylinder (2011)* rear wheel bearings ($$$ job)*water pump (2010)* tires (2012) probably about 1000 to 1500 miles on them if that. *heater core (2009)A/C compressor rebuilt & A/C system converted to R-134 1998 or 1999 (before I owned car)Like most old cars I will included an assortment of extra parts acquired & some new parts. Also a nice CA desert fender skirt as one of the skirts is so-soThis is a fun car to drive and really stands out. this car can draw a crowd. I have about $14. 00 invested in it. I am open to good offers. I am happy to give you more information or answer any questions. feel free to e-mail or call me: 847-707-8312. I tried to put as much info in the listing as I could without it becoming too long. can give more info to serious buyers. I am an honest seller and don't want anyone to have any unpleasant surprises. Please contact me for more photos. I am limited to only 24 in the E-bay listing. Some of these photos aren't that great and I will get better ones soon. I have put $2000 as a down payment and balance within 10 days. However. if you want different terms contact me. I am easy to work with. Payment will be via bank wire or cashier's check. I am willing to do some kind of payment plan too should someone want that. There isn't a big rush to get it moved either if that makes a difference. needs to be before summer though. I will sell to international buyers and do have some contacts for shipping in the US and possibly abroad. Though I prefer cash. I would consider a trade or partial trade for late '50s or early '60s finned cars. projects ok. Especially rough "Forward Look" Mopar convertibles. Possibly certain other 50s or 60s cars. And maybe a partial trade of prewar toy trains. Contact me and let me know what you have. SOLD AS-IS
