1976 Cadillac Coupe Deville / Well kept survivor / 64k documented miles / garage kept / 100 pics You are viewing a very well kept 1976 Cadillac Coupe Deville with less than 64,000 original miles, which are both ORIGINAL and DOCUMENTED on the title. It is clear from the condition of the car this has been well kept since new. It was purchased new at Moore Cadillac in York, PA. It spent most of its life in the Clearfield PA area. I purchased it this fall from a gentleman who inherited the car from his father. His father owned it since 1988. He believes his father was the 2nd owner. It is evident this car saw little in the way of any inclement weather. No doubt this was a garage kept car. I have the original owner's manuals, along with one pair of original keys. I would love to keep it, but I have too many cars and need to liquidate a good chunk of my collection (I have 3 other classic cars for sale). It deserves a home that will care for it properly. Overall, the Caddy is still in beautiful shape. It has a lot of options, such as AM/FM stereo & signal seeking "wonderbar" radio w/ power antenna, power windows/locks/seat, cruise control, twilight sentinel, automatic high beam dimmer, illuminated entry, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, vanity mirror on passenger visor, and remote controlled passenger mirror. Overall the car is very presentable. The title is clear and has no liens. The title also documents the original mileage. This is an extremely comfortable car, and the very last year of the 500 cubic inch (8.2 liter) V-8. The car runs and drives beautifully. See the description below for further details. Exterior: The paint is a beautiful Brentwood Brown metallic. In certain light it almost appears copper. It still retains a nice luster and reflects the fact it was garage kept. It was repainted at some point in the 1980's, and has had up very well. If I were to keep the car, I would have it either wet-sanded or rubbed-out to bring out a little more shine and smoothness to the paint. The paint job looks good...no runs or significant orange peel to speak of....some minor overspray here and there on some of the stainless trim which can be easily removed scraped off. Overall the paint work was done well. There are no dings to speak of, and any scratches are very minor. The stainless steel trim and chrome shine amazingly. The exterior is very pretty and is obvious of the care it has received. The underbody is solid, with only surface scale...evident that it saw very little inclement weather in its 40+ year life. No evidence of any accidents. Amazingly, the bumper fillers are still original, however the rear horizontal pieces have some hairline cracks. The vinyl top looks like new. There is a small amount of rust under the lower section of the vinyl top, which protrudes below the beltline, as seen in the pictures. I ran a magnet over the body and could not find evidence of bondo, however I did notice a very small area that has some bubbling, directly above the center of the fender skirt on the driver side, above the stainless body side molding. The bubbling is minor and has not broken through, and will probably not break through for many years if car stays out of the elements. The bubbling is not raised very much from the surface, and the bubbles themselves are small. Very hard to see unless you look very close, and so small it cannot be seen in the pictures. There is also a small area on the right rear bumper filler where the paint has flaked a little from the plastic, but again, not noticeable except upon close inspection. Lastly, there is some rust on the underside of each of the doors, only noticeable when doors are opened; and some surface rust directly above the lower stainless molding on the driver side lower front fender (behind the front wheel...see pic). I say all this at the risk of making the car sound worse than it really is...these are isolated areas....there is no rust anywhere else on the body, and there is no rust under the trunk lid. Overall the car is very solid and not a bondo or rust bucket. A solid and beautiful car it is. Interior: The leather interior is very soft & supple, having very comfortable seats, which feel, look, and smell like new. It was obviously NEVER smoked in. Cigarette lighters were never used. There are no rips, stains or holes in the upholstery. The factory carpets are in great shape, well protected by the factory floor mats which are still presentable. The headliner is like new. The dash has no cracks, same with arm rests. On the driver side interior door panel, the arm rest built into the door was recently recovered by a professional shop, and they did a decent job, although with minor imperfections where some ridges from underneath the new material shows....not terrible...but much better than before the repair...very hard to see in picture. The power equipment goodies all work, even the power antenna! I tested all the power equipment, and everything works great except the windshield washer squirters do not pump fluid. You can buy a new one for about $35. Everything else works like a charm. I should mention that the prior owner removed the shoulder belts, so only the lap portion of the belts remain. The interior is very nice, and still smells like new. Mechanical: The Caddy recently passed the PA safety & emissions inspection, and is valid through next November 2018. The exhaust is brand new from everything after the catalytic converter to the rear. Rear brakes were replaced. One of the power steering lines developed a leak and has since been replaced. Coolant and oil were just changed. The motor purrs like a kitten and is very smooth. The motor is the massive 500 cubic inch (8.2 liter) 4 barrel engine. The Turbo Hydramatic 3-speed transmission shifts smooth as it should. A/C still blows good cold air, and the climate control regulates the temperature, air direction, and fan speed as it should. The tires are older, but they passed safety inspection despite their age. However for prolonged higher speed driving I'd recommend new tires. My local shop has Mastercraft (made by Cooper?) white wall tires in stock and can have them installed for around $320 for the entire set. I have driven the car several hundred miles and it rides and drives very nice. With new tires it will ride even better. No engine or tranny leaks anywhere to my knowledge. This baby runs beautifully and is ready for the local cruise in! Overall: If you are looking for a well-cared for example of the last year for the largest land-yacht Coupe DeVille, this one's for you. A very nice car for the local show, and very presentable the way it sits. I have sold numerous cars on eBay and in all situations I had positive feedback. I attempt to describe each vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible and I do not think you will be disappointed. As with anything, if you desire to bid on the vehicle, I would encourage you to see it physically and drive it for yourself before you bid.
