1941 Cadillac Fastback Series 61-09 From owners research he believes car spent 1941-1980 in Colorado. In 1983 the engine was rebuilt. ( Only about 4. 00 miles ago) From 1980- 2002 car was held by a Cleveland owner and a Southern Ohio Museum. In 2002 the car had a new repaint in enamel. completely new wiring. and the interior restored in 2003. Want to see 202 Hi-Res Photos? Contact Chad at 330-353-1750 Paint- 2003 repaint that certainly has held up. It Is sure a testament to the quality of work that went into the repaint. Paint is very smooth and shiny. and has been polished out very well. The darker lower section certainly seems to match well all the way around. The top of the doors and the roof all seem to match very well. We don’t see any actual flaws in the workmanship of the repaint in general. It does look very professionally done. There are a few pin head size nicks on the front that are barley noticeable. that cant be helped from being driven. The only noticeable others being at the bottoms of the left side doors and couple of nicks on the right fender. (see pictures) Body- The body looks very nice and straight and correct much as it would have looked when it was new. The fits of the doors. hood. and trunk look fairly uniform all the way around. (see pictures) The only deviation that we see in the body is both fender skirts (above the Cadillac emblem) have a little dimple on both sides. Being extremely critical you can see them if your at just the right angle. (see pictures) Magnet -In randomly going around the panels with a magnet we did not determine any areas that did not contain steel. Much of the paint on the car measures from 8 to 14 ml. Which is fine. and means someone was sure not to get to much paint on the car. It would appear that in reviewing the car. that it certainly may have had some repair work on the bottom of the doors. and the fenders sometime during its life. We would expect much more. this is very minimal for a car this age! Bright work- The moldings and bright work surrounding the windows is very secure. shiny. and has very minimal wear. With just a few dimples here and there. The tail lights. side mirrors. engine vent. hood ornament. door handles. windshield wiper mounts. and front grill do have minor pitting. but the finish is still fairly shiny. The headlamps bezels bumper and hubcaps all show slight wear. but would polish up just like that of a car just a few years old. The handles and rear bumper do show a bit more wear than the front components. (Zoom in on the bight work pictures to see them all up close) The rocker panels bright work is intact. but does have a slightly brushed and worn finish. Glass- The current owner states that the front. and side glass has all been replaced. the rear window is curved and could not be found to replace. (maybe the original) All of the glass appears to be very clear and I didn’t notice any discoloring. delamination. cracking. bull-eyes. or wiper marks Interior- The owner explained that the seating material. and the carpet has been replaced. The visors appear to be solid. and with out any fabric or stitching issues. I only noticed a few marks on the drivers side from normal things that you might clip on a sun visor. The head liner stitching looks tight and sturdy. All material showing very little wear. if any aging. The seat material shows no noticeable wear nor do we see that it has any damage that is noticed . The door panels look like a (possibly) older material on the upper side. but has a renewed bottom portion that looks very new and professionally done. The carpet shows very little wear and has very good bright color yet. If you look carefully at the pictures you will see the wood grain does show some age and wear. as well as the interior dash chrome. You will see a section of the steering wheel. radio. tuning knob area. portion of the clock. and the wood between them that we quickly polished and it cleans up very well. (see pictures to see what to be expected) Trunk- Looking at the trunk. you can see it has a very nice glued in fabric interior. that looks very recent. and shows no age. Along with spare tire and wheel that is included. Tires and Wheels-The rear tire and wheels are barely exposed with the fender skirts. All four tires are Untouchable Cooper 4 Ply Polyester H 78/15. From what we can see there doesn’t appear to be any cracking in the black tread itself. or curb damage. (With the exception of a few scuffs on the left front tire that you can see in the pictures. ) Tires have 8-9/32 of tread remaining. Engine and Transmission- In looking the engine over I would guess that the design and everything under the hood is as was when it was built. It does have a more modern battery along with some new wiring. new style coil wires. and newer inline fuel filter. I didn’t see anything that was drastically altered. It appears that the hoses for the heater core have been removed. 10 years ago. new exhaust from muffler back. and relined clutch. Also has rebuilt brake cylinders and master cylinder. Two new fan units were installed under the front seats. (Hoses not installed) Chassis- Looking at the pictures closely is the best way to view it. The bottom is mostly painted black and appears to be a good and solid frame. with just a little bit of rust perforation in the rocker area. The owner drove Chad to the facility where we put the car on a rack. Chad drove the car back home. Approx. 10 miles driven. The engine. transmission. steering. and brakes all appear to be working as they were designed. (Didnt notice any problems) Temp. gauge works Amp meter working Fuel gauge working Oil pressure(idling hot but may not be accurate) 20/30 lbs Lever for vent opens and closes Horn works Headlights work Low beam and high beam work Parking lights work Front left blinker works Front right blinker works Rear left blinker works Rear right blinker works Brake lights work Clock not working Radio not working Heater controls sticky Windshield needs sealed properly (per owner) Door locks work intermittently Interested buyers please call Chad Gumpp Mobile/Direct: 330-353-1750 Office: 330-452-5788 PAYMENT INSTUCTIONS: 10% deposit ($1. 00 minimum) must be received within three (3) days of the close of the auction and the balance due within 10 days of the auction.
