1978 Seville ** 29,000 two owner miles ** same owner 38 years **factory CB

Up for your consideration is my 1978 Cadillac Seville. For some reason Ebay is showing it as a 1979, but its a '78 according to the title and the VIN. Its super rare for lots of reasons. First, its a GM 5.7L DIESEL that runs and drives like a new car. Second, It has the factory CB. And lastly is has only 29,xxx miles!!
The car was bought new by agentleman in Ohio in 1978, he added about 14,000 miles over 3 years. The gentleman Ibought the car from is also from Ohio. Hespecifically wanted the diesel option for the fuel mileage -- these carsroutinely average 28-30 MPG. He bought the car in 1981 for around $11,000, all cash, and started enjoying it. As GM diesels got some bad press back in the day, he used the car sparingly and eventually "put it up". he would start it every week and drive it a few times a year over the next 38 years. It has been parked and covered in a climate controlled warehouse for the last 38 years. As wetalked, he informed me that his thoughts on the bad wrap GM got in the 80s regardingtheir diesels was the crummy fuel that wasavailable back thenand the motor oil most owners were using ....I'm sure the head bolts were and issue on some cars, butwho's to argue with a 72 year old manwho's much wiser than I. He told me of the love and caring the carreceivedover the years and a few of the LONG distance trips he took in the car with ZEROtrouble ....
As for the condition of the car, Its trulyamazing for a car of its age and miles. One of thenicest I have seen, ever. The seller claimed the paint is alloriginal except for the (front or rear) fillers -- he has had one set done, Idon'tremember which. But they both lookperfect. Idon't see any evidence of a repaint, but honestly the paint looks too good to be true (maybe its alloriginal) ... The widewhitewall tires are 2 years old and are perfect. The sellerclaims hechanged the oil every "fewhundred" miles because of the time that elapsed between changes. The hubcaps are like new and have the factory locks on them and are flawless. As you can see, the car was "factory" undercoated and has ZERO rust that I can see anywhere. There are a few "wet" seals,but the car leaks nothing. EVERY SINGLE option on the car works. Even thefinicky ones like the power antenna and the clock. AC is cold and the AUTO setting works as it should ... the heat is HOT ... Power seats, windows, twilight and all are in like new, perfect working order, as is the CB and the CB antenna. The factory floor and trunk mats are in great shape, not shown because I wanted to show how nice the carpets are. The spare tire cover is included as well along with the key forthe locks tothe wheel covers.... The headliner is likenew and original. The top is inexcellent condition. The entire vehicle is atime capsule. The car starts up after the glow plugs dotheir thinginstantly and it drives down the road like it did in 1979. The engine hasplenty of torque and moves this beast down the road with authority. It will truly take you back in time!!! I have two sets of keys, lots of manuals and spare parts and the originals of parts he hasreplaced over the years. I also have the original title, still in the secondowners name. Ill put it in my name if the winner wants me to ... up to him/her.
Just in the name oftransparency .... the photos were taken JUST HOW I gotthe car ... Ihave not even washed it. I really love this car but have just bought two more keepers and this one has to go in the name of space only. Im sure I will regret selling it, as its almostexactly like my father's car he had when I was a child. I have perfect feedback on all my sales on Ebay ... some items in the six-figure range. There is nohassle, games, what you see is what you get. Keep in mind this is a near 40 year old car and I have described it as best I could.
