Car description |
---|
Highly optioned, unmolested, numbers matching, low mileage survivor with power bucket seats, A/C, cruise control..... every option available in 1962.
I've owned a handful of Cadillacs over the years and this one is by far the cleanest and unaltered of them all. Purchased it from an elderly woman in Beverly Hills who was absolutely methodical about the maintenance and preservation of this car.
The first thing I noticed were the factory bucket seats. Soon after, I realized this Coupe may very well have every factory option available in 1962. From factory cruise control to power wing windows, this Caddy is rare. To top it off, it's never been tampered with. We've all seen those classics that have changed hands too many times and it only takes one knucklehead to screw up an original classic car.
Tell-tale signs of a true survivor are present in the steering wheel and brake pedal. Look closely at the brake pedal to notice the minimal wear. Also, pay close attention to the steering wheel to recognize the absence of any cracking or fading. The dash is another sign of this car being garage kept. It's absolutely perfect. It is not brittle like most I've seen. All of the bright work and stainless is in excellent condition.
The seats are in great condition considering their age. The driver's seat is the only portion of the interior that has begun to show aging. It's not ripped, however, one may choose to re-upholster the bottom insert. This Cadillac retains it's original factory seatbelts. The headliner is in perfect condition. The carpet has been replaced, yet the original floormats with the correct Cadillac crest are present. The trunk has all the original panels, trunk mat, spare tire and bumper jack. It's dry and free from any rust.
Mechanically, this Caddy is solid. It drives smooth and handles like new. There is absolutely no slop or play in the steering wheel. There are no vibrations, nor does it pull or drift. The motor runs and idles smooth without any issues. These 390 motors are notorious for exhaust leaks and this one does not leak. There is a small oil leak, but if you know classics, nearly all of them develop a leak at some point.

UPDATED INFO 4/25/2017:
I've had plenty of the same questions and I'll answer them here. No, there is absolutely no rust in this car. It has been well cared for and it's evident throughout the car.
Yes, all the controls and settings for the A/C and heater work, yet the A/C unit will need a fresh charge of R12. It's difficult to find here in CA., thus I have not done so. Another option is that it can be converted over to R134. Otherwise, the heater will melt your eyeballs. That chrome vent in the carpet between both bucket seats (on top of transmission tunnel) is a vent only present in this car due do it's bucket seat option. Yes, it blows air towards the rear passengers. How cool is that???
