This auction is for a 1956 Cadillac Sedan Deville 4 Door Hard Top (no post when windows are down). It is recently out of 17 years barn storage. I purchased this car 25 years ago from a collector in Canada and enjoyed it for a couple of years. Prior owner who was an ex airline pilot purchased it and has had it in his collection since. He enjoyed going to cruises and special occasions through out the spring, summer and fall months but passed away in 2001. The car was then stored away until the family liquidated his car collection and we were able to purchase it back last year. I have always loved this particular model and had intentions of going through the car and redoing it back to its former glory. Just have to many irons in the fire and not enough time. So I am going to offer the car out the way it is. We did an oil change, new aluminum radiator and correct new 12 volt battery and got it running again. Engine runs beautiful. Transmission shifts smoothly. Put on a nice set of P235-75R-15 Firestone Wide White Radials. We cleaned the master brake cylinder, filled it with fluid but that is as far as we got. Will need the wheel cylinders cleaned and brakes bled but can be yard driven using the E brake. Has dual exhaust and is still in good shape. The car has its original 365 V-8, 4 BBL Engine and Automatic Trans. Has Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seat, AM Radio with Power Antenna, Padded Dash, Deep Tinted Glass, Automatic Light Dimmer,AccessoryWire Wheel Covers and Factory Continental Kit. The body on the car is in above average condition. Good and straight down both sides. It has had some touch ups on the paint here and there and there is one minor rust spot behind the fender skirt drivers side. There are also a few little bubbles on one door down low. The underside of the car is extremely solid. Perfect frame, good solid floors, braces, inner rockers, trunk, etc. There is one small soft spot just starting to rust through on the passenger side front floor pan. Very easy fix. I would call the car a survivor for sure. The interior of the car is veryrespectable. The front carpets have shrunk a little from age. As far aselectrical sI got all the power windows working with the exception of the passenger front. I had it going up and down several times and had to bang the bottom of the door to get it to go up the last time. Iam sure its just a bad connection. Heater, fuelgauge, lights, turn signals, park lights, power seat and windows all work. Radio lights up butdoesn'tplay. The collar for the shifter is cracked and is a little tough going from drive back to park. I wired the collar together for now but have a complete 56 steering column with steering wheel that I am including. You can either replace just that piece or the whole thing. If someone spends a weekend on the car going over it and doing the brakes properly. Ibelieveit will be ready for the road again. If you are handy and like tinkering then this may be the perfect car for you. A great 50's icon and best of all its a Cadillac when Cadillacs were great. We have a prior New Hampshire registration and proper dealer transfer paperwork for a smooth transaction. Please bid only if you have intentions of following through with the sale.
