Car description |
---|
This beautiful 1935 Cadillac Series 20 came from the factory with 353 cu. in. L-Head V8 engine rated at 130 Hp. The three-speed selective synchromesh manual transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, semi-floating rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes makes this Cadillac a perfect candidate for a CCCA touring car. The car rides on a 136” wheelbase, in fact it’s the largest V8 Coupe that Cadillac produced in 1935.
Cadillac’s new styling that started in 1934 marked a dramatic shift to a modern, streamlined theme. A new “X” frame chassis was completely concealed under the coachwork, featuring airfoil-shaped front fenders that flowed into a steeply raked V-shaped radiator shell, and ended with rear fenders that swept seamlessly into the rear deck. Chrome trim was tastefully restrained, and the car was visually lengthened by extending the hood and the lack of side mounts makes the car even look longer.
Notably, improved body construction techniques insulated passengers from engine heat and noise, while ride and handling were greatly enhanced by the new “Knee Action” independent front suspension design incorporating coil springs, while a new rear stabilizer bar reduced body roll. Underhood, the V8 engine featured an increase in horsepower, thanks to a compression increase, and offered better reliability with the addition of aluminum pistons, Detroit lubricator carburetors, and a solenoid-type starter.
This striking and beautifully proportioned 1935 Cadillac Rumble Seat coupe has a jewel-like instrument panel and is equipped with a rare and original Cadillac radio and a Jaeger cloc, and dual windshield wipers. As well, this Cadillac features the flowing “Goddess” mascot, a golf bag door and rumble seat. Notably, the chassis and engine bay are well-detailed, with a very authentic presentation.
Without doubt, this stunning CCCA Full Classic will make an excellent and enjoyable addition to any collection of the finest classic American automobiles. Best of all, its handsome design, great engineering, and many amenities will make it an ideal car for a multitude of classic car tours.
It has the style of the V12 & V16 Cadillacs just not the price tag. This 1935 Cadillac Series 20 Coupe is 1 of 2 left in the USA (According to the Cadillac Club Registry)
