The 1966 Coupe De Villeis one of the most beautiful cars to ever come out of Detroit. It has just the right touches of flash and elegance. Fins are present, but discreet. Lines are long and lean, not garish. It is a pillar-less hard top....a big part of its already great look. The interiors are well done and predate the use of cheap plastics in odd color combos. As many mechanics have said over the years...these Cadillacs were very well engineered and it really shows.
It was love at first sight for me.This beautifulburnished gold Coupe Deville with 78,000miles was purchased from a collector in the early 90s while i had been living in Northern California. The BLACK PLATES are included in the sale - See pics. It was driven across the country in ’95 without any trouble and has been used only as a sunny summer day car in NY ever since.
About this car:
The 429 ci V8 is powerful, and the ride is second to none. The paint, chrome and interior are all in great original untouched condition. It is in good-excellent shape, while carrying the character earned since 1966. Please review the pics.
Minimal power options means far fewer ongoing repairs. Car has power seats and windows and Air Conditioning. The lack of other trouble prone options was a major positive consideration for me when I purchased the car.
Tilt AND Telescopic steering wheel - rare item for the time. It took Lincoln years to add telescopic feature
Power Antenna (it works)
Neat feature(s) from the time: car has factory emergency flashers - an added cost option back in the day! AM Radio has power scan feature - also a modern option of that time.
Latest up-keep work:
The rear quarter window weather seals, WITH STURDY STEEL inner skeletal structure, are no longer available off the shelf. The cheap flimsy seals sold today are worthless. I had TWO new seals custom made to handle 1) the needed repair on one side and 2) the anticipated repair for the other when the time comes.
Car will need AC recharge. The next owner may want to consider an AC conversion.
