This is a real Coupe de Ville, ot just a 2 door hardtop. Fully optioned with factory air, ower seat, indows, rakes and steering. Has the windshield washer accessory. The ID plate shows DX meaning de Ville and power windows. In 1981 this car was vandalized by rock throwing kids who broke all the windows and poured some paint on it, t was parked in a carport from then on. I bought it several years ago fromthe Palm Springsarea of Southern California. It has been in the desert it's whole life, ery little rust. It was originally pink but was color changed a long time ago to blue. Before starting I prepped the engine with top-oil in the cylinders, ll the plugs were clean so I just checked the gap (the plugs and coil were Bosch so I assume the owner cared well for this car) replaced distributor cap, oints, otor, ondenser, lug wires, hanged the oiland other items and it fired right up. I ran an axillary push button for the starter, suspect the gentleman who last drove it in 1981 installed a cut out switch that I could not find. I installed an electric fuel pump (original is still in place), adiator hoses and belts etc. I had the transmission checked, rans fluid and filter replaced. Master cylinder rebuilt and wheel cylinders and front flex lines replaced. The car drives but I didn't drive it far due to the old tires and no glass, t will need to be timed and carb rebuilt but NO SMOKE. This has the original matching numbers 365 C.I.300 H.P engine, ith 10 to 1 compression. Very little rust, ust under the back window trim (see photos) common due to the drip rail configuration. Photos show the trunk with no rust and I could find no rust in the floors or under supports.Very complete with the exception of the Coupe de Ville script on the front fenders and one of the badges on the fin sides are not there, lso the hubcaps and the spare tire are not there. Does have the original oil bath air filter, ack and stand and wheels. The power windows work as does the seat motor (seat will need to be freed up) power steering works. It has a CLEARvalid title (no salvage title) it is on non-op. Has the old black California plates, ast sticker is Feb 1981. I have always considered this to be the best looking post war Cadillac and had planned on building it but have other projects ahead of it. Car is available for sale locally so contact me if you are interested. Glass isn't that big of a deal, ew windshields are available and the back glass can be found on eBay for $150.00 and up, oth front and back glass are the same as Buick. Besides if you plan a restoration you would be replacing the glass anyway. The interior needs to be totally redone, he cloth covers on the seats were done for presentation. Very straight California car, eady for restoration or to be put on the road as a "survivor" rat rod or what have you. Unmolested, riginal with no speaker holes cut into it or the like. All of the A.C. components are in place. Priced at less than what it would part out for, hese are high dollar cars restored. I am in the high desert of California, 0 miles east of L.A.
