1958 BUICK CENTURY COUPE
This is a clean old coupe with a very nice body for restoration. The car is very straight and only two small spots of rust on the whole car. The buicks of this year had alot of chrome on them and are really nice looking cars when restored. They look good original, rodded, lead sled, kustom or? It would make a nice gasser build at the fraction of the price of a chevy. The car also comes with a few extra parts. Below is a detailed description. Feel free to ask questions. Clear title in my name. If you'd like to do something early on it, message me. Thanks.
MECHANICAL
The car has the 364 buick v8. I tried to turn the motor over and it does not turn. I took all the spark plugs out and on rear plug looked like it had condensation/rust on it. I sprayed pb blaster in all of the cylinders and I have not tried to turn it over since. The oil looks fine and the rest of the plugs looked fine. I'm guessing condensation and rusting of at least the one cylinders rings. Maybe you can get it the engine free without major work but I'm just not sure. This car has power steering and power brakes. The car rolls/steers and brakes. The rear tires are good. The front tires are old and not usable but they hold air enough for transport. I have not tried the lights or anything electrical. I had this car in my shop awhile and needed to take it out before I had a chance to try everything.
BODY
The body on this car is very nice for a restoration project. It is arrow straight with no dents. At some time the front clip was changed and they got everything back into place properly. Doors, hood, and trunk open/close as they should. Nothing is bent up and the frame is nice. The car has only two small spots of rust: The drivers front floorpan has a couple small rust spots starting. The floor is solid and can be used as-is, but would need to be repaired if your doing a nice restoration. The rust is minor, so it could be patched with sheetmetal or a section out of a replacement pan. The only other rust is down low, on the rear corner of the front fender. This is a rust spot just starting and will be a small and easy patch to do. The chrome and stainless is mostly in good shape. The grille is broke. I can help you find a replacement and there is actually a grille on ebay now. The passenger door trim is damaged but a nice replacement is included. There are a couple other extra trim pieces that are included but not needed. The rest of the floors, frame, suspension etc. have no rust. The trunk pan has no rust and the paperboard mat and side pieces are usable. The rear quarters, wheelhouses, roof, jams, sills, rockers, hood, trunk lid, doors, etc. etc. are clean and solid. The trim tag is on the car and the firewall and cowl are also clean.
INTERIOR
The interior in the car looks original. If your doing a ratrod type car, you could use the interior if you put a different carpet or floormat in it. If your doing a nicer type restoration, the interior would need re-done. It depends on what the buyer wants. Nothing is cut up and it all appears original. The plastic is falling off the outer steering wheel ring which is pretty common.
