Car description

Please visit for additional photos, information and a video. What do you get when you take a low mileage Grand National and spend $50,000+ building it up? One of the baddest cars around, that is also highly collectible! This 1987 Buick Grand National has 2,258 miles that the seller state are original miles! The car was bought along with 6 others by a collector, new from Buick in 1987. It was then stored in original condition as an investment. Once sold it received a heavy dose of power and performance goodies with documentation of all work performed. The original complete 3.8L turbocharged V6 is included with the sale. It was replaced by a Weber Machine Works 274 cubic inch Stage Motor. It has aluminum heads with SS valve covers, a custom built larger than stock intercooler by Turbonetics, stainless steel headers and 3” mandrel bent stainless exhaust, trans brake, line lock, custom aluminum oil pan and sump, and a Precision turbo. That is mated to an Art Carr built transmission with stall converter running to a custom aluminum driveshaft with larger u-joints. That routes the power out back to a built rear end with Strange axles and airbag suspension. The front hubs and brakes are also by Strange Engineering. Adjustable shocks on all four corners give you even more control over the ride in this Buick. Mickey Thompson tires mounted on Bogart Force 5 alloy wheels. The interior has been redone in Italian leather, but maintains the stock gray and black theme these Grand Nationals came with. Extra gauges have been mounted to keep an eye on the engine and transmission. Under the hood is as much form as it is function. It has been carefully built so that you want to raise the fiberglass hood and show it off at any car show you might attend. The trunk is nice and clean with the battery relocated back there and a gauge to show the charging level. Even with the larger rear tires, this Buick has unmolested wheel openings front and rear! This car was given a few passes after being built, to get an idea of what it could do. It laid down 11.5 seconds at 115 MPH in the quarter mile! That is 2 seconds better than a GNX and almost 3 seconds better than a stock Grand National! This car comes with binders and binders of documentation showing the build, receipts, and instruction books for the parts used. It is very well documented!
