Car description |

My beloved 1990 Buick Reatta coupe for sale. With barely over 21000 built over its four-year lifespan, used Reattas seem to come as either Concours Queens or parts cars. This is the one you want- low-ish mileage, excellent condition, yet still driven regularly, but sparingly. Always kept inside and spared from winter use (mostly). No, it doesn't have the sunroof or the 16-way seats, but then there's no sunroof to leak or finicky seats to get working.
Technically I am the fifth owner, but I see it as a three-family car. The original owner's son inherited it in 2004, and continued to baby it until he sold it in 2012 to an older couple moving to Colorado. There, it was the wife's car. And when she passed in 2019, the husband sold it to his young nephew, just starting out with his new wife at a seminary here in Louisville. He quickly realized he neither had the time or knowledge (or indoor storage) for a 'vintage' car, so he sold it to me. I have kept the car as stock as possible (save for wheels and dash inlays) and have maintained with NOS and OEM ACDelco parts where available. I would drive this car anywhere- it's that good and comfortable. Thanks to East Coast Reatta Parts (and the Reatta Enthusiasts Facebook page) for all the difficult to find parts and advice.
THE GOODAll repairs and maintenance accounted for since 1991- full records from 2012.No real damage- all panels straight and as well-aligned as when it left the Reatta Craft Centre.About as rust-free a driven Reatta as you'll find- just some surface on the cradles. Rockers as shiny-painted as the day they were born.Excellent original paint- has the inevitable swirls and a couple of scuffs. All wear items have been kept up with and replaced or repaired when necessary.New (300 miles) Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires on vintage Regal Gran Sport 16-inch wheels. Left side professionally refinished, right side excellent retouched originals.Original 15-inch wheels/caps in excellent condition and included in sale (Michelin tires were 14 years old and were discarded)Dashboard and console trim panels replaced with equivalent woodgrain pieces from Riviera.Original black textured panels included with sale.Fresh oil change, plugs, plug wires, thermostat, coolant.New rear brake pads and semi-rebuild of rear calipers (sticky from intermittent use)ABS pump replaced 2008 (20k miles ago)Ignition module and Crankshaft Position Sensor replaced a couple of times. Both horn buttons just replaced with NOS units.Auxiliary CD player just replaced with freshly remanufactured unit.Factory cassette player works perfectly! Two factory remotes included- both function flawlessly with fresh batteries.Left headlight motor freshly rebuilt.Right headlight motor is aftermarket replacement from 2003 and couldn't be rebuilt, but kit included in sale.Power antenna replaced 2000.Original window sticker included.Complete owner's binder (RARE!), with sign-off sheet from Craft Centre staff. The list goes on and on...
THE BADAir conditioning not currently cooling. All of HVAC works flawlessly (replacement control panel 1998), but no cooling. Recently recharged, hopefully will get working before end of auction.Small dent in front of hood, likely related to small gouge in top of front bumper.Multiple scrapes along bumper faces and surrounding trim strips.Paint flaking off filler panel below taillights. No evidence of body damage, unsure why this is happening.Lower mounting tabs on grille broken from fascia- likely from a parking block or such. Everything still aligned and solid.Backlighting of headlight switch comes and goes. Mostly goes. Switch works perfectly, not messing with it.Parking brake cable end on left rear clashes with caliper (misalignment?) and will not fully engage. Still trying to figure this out.Really, that's about it!
Asking a Buy-It-Now price of $4995. Car is worth more, but without working A/C, I have to be realistic. I really want to see this car get a good home. Shoot me an offer. You can't insult me. Much.
Crystal clear (not literally) physical Kentucky title is with me. Obviously, in-person pickup with cash is preferred, but I will be happy to work with your shipper for pickup. While you can easily drive it home, I haven't gone over 100 miles in it at any one time. Absolutely no issues at all on that trip. Any out-of-country shipping is up to the buyer.
A non-refundable deposit (through Paypal) of $750 is due within 24 hours of auction close, with rest due within seven (7) days unless other arrangements are made. Balance must be made by Cashier's Check or good ol' cash in person.
PLEASE ask any questions before buying! I'm sure I've forgotten a bunch of stuff.
No warranties or guarantees are expressed or implied.
For sale locally (Louisville, KY.), so auction may be cancelled at any time.
