1970 Buick Skylark Base Hardtop 2-Door 7.5L

Up for auction is a 1970 Buick Skylark 2 door sedan (a post car). This Buick is a real musclecar! Not a GS. but a well built and performing machine. Originally built for the Hot Rod magazine Drag Week tour. it has plenty of power to do so! It has run 11:80-11:90 at Amarillo Dragway. Equipped with a . 030 over 455. CompCam. T/A performance intake. MSD distributor. box. coil and wires. a worked. chokeless Q Jet. nickel plated headers and a billett mechanical fuel pump as well as a auxillary electric pusher pump at the tank. It has all the necessary supporting equipment to match as well. Such as a competition built 200R4 transmission with elec od. 3000 stall torque convertor. auxillary transmission cooler. auxillary elec fan. a 4 row custom built aluminum radiator. with a Tilton hi torque starter and Optima battery. The suspension is up to the task also with front and rear sway bars. new steel driveshaft with a driveshaft safety loop. adjustable rear upper control arms and solid billett lowers with a 3:73 geared posi. Also has a 3" exhaust with bolt on exhaust cutouts. and finned aluminum rear brake drums. All of this is sitting on 275/60/15 and 225/70/15 tires on Buick styled steel wheels. For long cruises between events it has an updated factory a/c system with an aluminum A6 compressor poa eliminator and new hoses and cools excellent. This car is about driving and enjoying the sounds this beast makes while driving and cruising with the a/c on. It has a radio delete plate in dash but does have rear speakers and the windshield antennae so you can put tunes in it if you desire. All interior. exterior lights. horn. signals. wipers. door locks. windows. seats work properly. It starts every time and only requires a few minutes of warm up time when cold. with no choke on the carb. The auxillary gauges beneath the dash all work . Because it was built to be driven hard. dollars were obviously spent on mechanical ability and not charm school! It has an older cheaper paint job that has chips and scratches. The chrome on the bumpers is original and shows wear. It is a non vinyl top car with a painted roof. The body is actually in very good shape with no rust. The interior looks to have the original carpet that is faded but not torn and previously upholstered seats in cloth and vinyl. To recap. this car is fast. fun . oud and decent looking. It is at home at any local cruise night or weekends at the track and you don't have to worry about getting a rock chip while driving there!
