GR Auto Gallery is please to offer this 1940 Buick Special 4 door Sedan. For 1940, Buick implemented a complete re-design which included a squattier grill and it was the first year for integrated head lamps. They were powered by an inline 8 cylinder engine, 3 speed manual transmission and 4 rear drive.
The car here is a quality driver example with a great core structure. Recent items that were addressed were new springs and all 4 corners, new front shocks, rear transmission seals replaced at the torque tube and universal joint, converted to twelve volt, rebuilt radio and converted to 12 volt, 12 volt starter, wiper motor rebuilt, new correct battery box hold down, rebuilt fuel pump, new manifold gaskets and new hardware including high strength studs and related hardware.
Mechanically, the car starts, runs and drives very well and is something unique that can be immediately enjoyed. The interior is very clean featuring front bench seat, sharp looking dash, original gauges, original steering wheel and very nice upholstery. The body shows great structure and features older paint that is showing some classic patina and a little pealing on the roof.
All in all a rock solid example that be driven and enhanced to taste. A must consider at the price offered here
