Car description |
---|
1950 Buick Super 8 Riviera Edition.
This car is from Hobbs New Mexico and still has New Mexico license plates from 1986. It has been in storage since 1986 occasionally being started and driven. Pictures were taken in December 2019 when I picked the car up. You can see a layer of red dust/dirt on the car and some bird poop on the driver side windshield from all the years of sitting in the building where I got it. The bird poop washed off and there was no damage to the paint or metal from it being there. The paint on the car is perfect for the Patina crowd. It is the original pain as far as I can tell.
Car is complete and can be driven. It is just as I got when I pulled it out of the building it was stored in. Somebody is going to ask me, no, you cannot drive it home, you will need to put it on a trailer or transport.
The only rust I have found on the car is the driver side floor board where there is some rust through in one place. The driver floor could be repaired but replacement panels are inexpensive and fairly easy to weld in.The rest of the body is solid and straight. Rocker panels are solid, trunk is solid. There is a minor dent in the driver door.
All of the trim is there and in very good condition. The hood ornament was not on the car when I picked it up but it was in the glove box so I put it on.
The prior owner converted the electrical system to 12 volts. I do not know if the gauges where protected when the conversion was done or if the got burned out so I am including a complete set that is undamaged and in good condition.
The original fuel tank is dented and has a leak. The tank is repairable but I am including an original fuel tank that is in excellent condition. The extra tank came from a friend's daily driven Buick Super 8 he is modifying with a later model frame and LS engine.
The tires are at least 40 years old. The spare still has whiskers on it. If you are shipping, the tires should be replaced so the shipper can manage the car. If you are picking it up yourself, two tires hold air but will go flat in about a day or so, the other two tires hold air without leaking. If you have having the car shipped I can put a set of new tires on it for $312.00 which will be in addition to the ending auction price.I have a source where I can get four P235/75R15 mounted and balanced for $312.00 tax included. I will not charge anything for getting them put on the car. You will get the receipt for the tires which have a 50,000 mile warranty.
Send me a message if you have any questions. I will be diligent in answering all legit questions. If you want more pictures I can send you more. I have video of the car being driven by me from the building where it was parked.
Do not ask me to sell the car outside of eBay. I am not in a position to accept trades because this car is taking up my wife's parking space and that is the fact!Be prepared to pay the deposit timely as specified in the listing, 24 hours.Be prepared to pay me for the car as specified in the listing, 7 days.
