Car description |
---|
1928 Buick Model 48 Series 120 Opera Coupe. Very distinctive rare body style; approximately 9000 of these cars were made. Well preserved original green mohair interior. Exterior has been repainted many years ago and has little scratches and dings. Pictures look great but the paint is notperfect. Engine is a 274 CIDstraight six valve-in-head, 77 HP and runs great. 3-speed manual gearbox. Four wheel mechanicalband brakes. Live axle suspension with semi-elliptical leaf springs and hydraulic shock absorbers. 120 in wheel base. 21" wood artillery type wheels with new white wall tires. Combination tail lamp, stop lamp and backup lamp. Double hung spare tires on the back. Privacy curtains all around;appear tobe original as they are fragile. Head lights came with the car whenwe got it. I've been told that they are not original for this car. They work great and were possibly changed for better visibility. Car has a brand new wiring harness. Cabin heater has been added. Wiper motors have been converted to electric. Being a rare Opera Coupe, in the back seat behind the driver, is a secret compartment "Champagne Hole". This car is a beauty and turns heads everywhere we go. Good luck bidding!
