Car description |
---|
1993 Buick Roadmaster Wagon. Third owner, having purchased the car from the second owner (from 1994 to 2015) in late 2015 with ~360k miles.
High miles but with extensive records of conscientious maintenance and care in its long life in California. Engine runs strong and the heads do not appear to have ever been removed. I've enjoyed every minute with this car, but now is the time to thin the herd and share it with someone else.
There is a large and active on-line community focused on these great old cars where all sorts of information, ideas and parts are available.
Many upgrades while I owned the Roadmaster including:
-New Hankook Whitewall Tires
-New Front Suspension parts from MOOG
-New Oil Level Sensor (to stop persistent leak)
-RetroSound Digital Radio (modern features, compatible looks)
-Heavy Duty Springs (originals included)
-Lowering Springs (not mounted, but included - too low for an old man)
-F-Body Frame Brace
-Heavy Duty Front Sway Bar
-Heavy Duty Rear Suspension Arms
-Heavy Duty Shocks KYB front Bilstein rear (original self leving equipment included)
The transmission was rebuilt in 2014 and has been trouble-free during my ownership
No body rust. All trim is present. All power equipment works properly. I would not hesitate to leave out on a trip anywhere at a moment's notice.
Issues to be aware of:
Passenger side front seat upholstery has torn seam at the upper right of the seatback. See photo in gallery. I had the "spears" on the side trim wrapped with a burl pattern to match the dashboard... it doesn't match, I don't like it either.
Summary:
Drive this car as is and enjoy the smiles it brings to you and others, or use it as a base for an LSx upgrade. The suspension upgrades give the car handling and agility that will surprise those expecting a "boat." No modifications have been made to the original frame, interior, or body. The body is straight with only the expected 26 years' worth of parking lot dings. Mileage is approximate as car is driven occasionally. If you have questions, please ask.
