Car description |
---|
It was a driver when I bought it, it did have a 430 motor and 400 tranny in it when i purchased it. It was a good runner, but was looking for a fresh strongmotor, so I purchased another buick 430 and transmission out of a 69 wildcat. That is the current red engine in the car. Was recently rebuilt before my purchase, motor runs very strong, but still has some issues to work out. Had a little misfire and some noise so must be trailered. I tried adjusting the timing and now the timing is off and not running correctly. Not sure what it will need to get running properly. I also have the old 430 and trannyI pulled that is included in this sale.I did take a video of that motor running before removal. Contact me if you would like to see that.
The interior is very nice, power leather seats, new carpet, insulation under the carpet, new headliner and door panels.
The body is very straight and solid, nice body lines, doors shut very nice and do not sag. Panels and gaps are also nice. Brand new 17" American Racing torque thrust wheels and tires zero miles. Trunk is solid as is frame an undercarriage. There is a small patch in the drivers side floor, the rest of the floor is very solid.
Power steering and power brakes, drum brakes. Heat works, wipers also but are removed currently. Have most trim pieces included including the nice chrome strip that goes down the center of the hood. Also head light bezels are nice have two sets included.
Please ask questions if you have them, nice solid project waiting for someone to complete.clear title in my name, cash or wire transfer. I can assist in loading. This is a no reserve auction so bid to own it. If you have questions please ask. Buyers with less that5 transactions please contact me prior to bidding.

Here is what I know about the rebuild on the red motor currently in the car. I purchased it a few months ago from a private party in South Dakota, it was in a 69 wildcat, that the bodywasjust to far gone so he wasparting it out.I was told it was recently rebuilt and they spent $3500 on it. Also a new torque converter was installed. I did not hear it run, before it was removed. When I installed it in this car a few weeks later, is when I found out there was some issues. I have not run the motor very much as I am not sure what the issue is. At idle I can hear a small misfire, and sounds like a knock.. but is not a steady noise. If I raise the RPM's higher I don't hear the noises.I tried adjusting the timing, but that just made my timing off now.I am not a mechanic, just a weekend DIY that has too many hobbies/projects including cars. The 430 engine and tranny that I removed that also comes with the sale, will run and idle all day long and I put a couple of hundred miles on it before I removed it.

A couple of more things that I remembered. about a year before I purchased, the previous owner put on new rear shocks and new front ball joints upper and lower. I had some questions on the undercarriage, soI crawled under today with a light and took a few photos. There is one spot on the passenger side rear inner wheel well where there was some rust and has been filled with some foam. I checked the drives side same spot and it is solid. Frame looks good front to rear, bottom of rockers are very good, door jams etc. no rot. a little bit of rust on the inside of the rear quarters on the very bottom lip, but not much and solid. All original sheet metal from what I can see. back of the frame under the rear bumper looks solid. The rear tail lights are both cracked as shown and the wiring on the rear lights need replaced, just in the trunk. the wiring harness going back tot he trunk was good was inspected when old carpet and insulation were removed. The inside of the floor was painted before new insulation and carpet was installed. All glass is good, window operate manual cranks.
