1988 Buick Reatta

The Reatta is Buicks' answer to a Luxury sports car!

The Reatta, a two-passenger car was introduced in January 1988. Intended to carve out a market niche that involved a combination of luxury and sports car; it had the sporty appearance, aerodynamic styling and a 0.34 drag coefficient. The Reatta sported its own unique body style and was crafted with an attention to hand finishing uncommon for a mass-produced automobile. The assembly was performed at a small series of craft stations- each with a specialized team of workers, rather than a conventional assembly line. After a team had completed their portion of the assembly, the car would be moved by robots to the next station in the series. All the paintwork was sent to PPG Industries personnel- who performed the work on site.

During the first two years of production the Buick Reatta, like its Riviera stable mate, featured as standard equipment a touch screen computer interface called the "Electronic control center”, or ECC. The touch screen controlled the radio and climate control functions and provided diagnostic access to the vehicle's various electronic systems and sensors, mostly eliminating the need for a diagnostic scanner. It also featured a date reminder, a trip computer, and a user-configurable over speed alarm.

This is one of only 4,708 units built: front wheel drive vehicle, great running Buick 3800 3.8L V6 engine, automatic transmission with floor shift, console, power-steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power seats, cruise control, tilt wheel, rear defroster, intermittent wipers, dual power side mirrors, radio with cassette player, touch screen control, original paint in jet black, smooth and soft saddle leather and suede interior, blackwall radials with Reatta five spoke wheels.

This Reatta was in storage for many years before being recently brought back to life. As you can see from the pictures this car was a daily driver but looks very good for its age and miles. Most everything on the car works with only a few that do not. Not working are the power mirrors, power door locks work from the driver's side door but NOT from the passenger door. The lumbar in the seats do not work, the A/C will need a charge but is all there and the anti-lock brake light is on. The tires are in good condition, the car rides nice with 123,210 miles showing on the odometer. The car is in no way perfect but a great example of a 80's sporty luxurious Buick! Feel free to call, email or text with any questions that you might have! I have shippers is you need help with shipping and would be more than willing to get you a quote to have the car delivered to your door driveway!
