Up for sale is a very original 1957 Roadmaster 75. It has just been returned to the road after sitting for nearly 20 years. I bought it last spring and have done a significant amount of work to it. While in the middle of this, I bought another project I couldn't pass up, so I am selling this one, as I need the space and I already have another 1957 75 that I've had for a long time.
I've finished all of the significant items with this car, and it's now ready to enjoy. There are a few minor issues to address, but nothing pressing that can't be worked on while driving it. It basically looks like it probably did in the early to mid 1960's as a well-cared for driver. I've placed a very, very fair reserve on this car for what it is and it's condition.
Body: This car was repainted in a single stage urethane in it's original Carlsbad Black, and has a very deep gloss. This car is very solid, as it spent most of it's life garaged. There are/were no rust holes in the outer body panels. There is no rust or soft spots anywhere in the trunk, floors, inner rocker panels, or elsewhere underneath. The sweepspear trim has been polished and repainted in the center in the correct original tangerine color.Wheels are correct original type and have been sandblasted and painted. The chrome is all 1957 chrome in great original shape. The door mirror is NOS, the rest is nice but not perfect. It's all very presentable as a nice driver; some is very nice (especially the front). The rear bumper ends are completely solid. The door and trunk weatherstripping have been replaced. The trunk lining is all original.
Mechanical: This car runs great, and accelerates very smoothly and strong. The transmission operates fantastically. The brakes work well with no shuddering and a high and tight pedal. There is some fading under fast braking, but I haven't gotten to adjusting the brakes to see if it improves. The following have been recently completed:
Interior: The interior is in fantastic original condition. The only thing that's been replaced is the fabric on the front seat, using correct original material; the leather surround is original on front seat as is everything else inside. The headliner and carpets are faded, but there are no rips in the headliner and only a small heel hole in the carpet on the driver side where the vinyl heel pad is worn away. The dash is original and in amazing condition.

- Most items under hood have been cleaned up or repainted, including inner fenders. It's about 90% detailed.
- Rebuilt carburetor
- Gas tank repaired/cleaned
- All new fuel lines
- Radiator cleaned out and checked
- Radiator hoses replaced
- Heater hoses replaced
- Water Pump replaced
- Battery replaced
- Battery cables replaced
- Exhaust repaired
- New ignition wires, plugs, distributor cap, and ignition rotor.
- Front brake line and hoses replaced

- All gauges, including the speedometer, work properly except for the fuel gauge, which works sometimes. The sending unit was replaced, but I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot what's going on with it.
- The original power antenna works well.
- The power seat works well.
- The Wonderbar radio turns on and makes static, but won't tune in a station.
- The clock doesn't work.
- Wipers don't work
- Both front windows work great. The left rear only works with the main switch, the right rear works with neither. This is surely just a corroded switch, as is common with these after 62 years.
A couple things I forgot...Sometimes when you turn key to on position, car starts before depressing pedal. Once started it disengages as normal so it's not of any consequence so wasn't high on list to adjust yet. Also, has rebuilt starter and NOS ignition switch installed.
