For sale is a 1929 Buick Marquette 5 passenger sedan. It has been almost completely redone in and out. It has the original motor, suspension system, wooden wheels and tires, All the hardware is original. Some glass has small cracks. The top has been refinished with rubber and coating. The under carriage has all been re done. It runs great and drives . It has modern seats in front and in back. We have one, possible two original seat frames that is included. The interior dash, and door panels are in zebra print. There is a animal print stripe in black on the outside to set off the burgundy and black exterior. It is a fairly new paint job. It was painted at a professional body shop that restores vehicles. It is in great condition but remember it is an old,old car. The engine is a 6 cylinder flat head. We added a couple things to the car that were not original to set the car off. It would be very easy to restore this back to original. It does have seat belts. The odometer reading is 34294. Not known if it works. It has been a trophy winner at car shows. People love to get their picture taken with it. It has a Betty Boop stickers in the back windows. It would not win the race at the Daytona 500 but it is fun to drive. It is fun to drive in parades or just on an ice cream run with the grand kids. For more information call 231-6380857. No returns. Buyer is to pay for shipping or local pick up. $500 dollars down with in 24 hours of sale. Remainder within 7 days. Car must be picked up within 7 days. It is to be sold AS IS. We hate to part with it but we have several vehicles and storing all of them is a problem. You won't be disappointed in this beauty.
Description from Buick History,
The Marquettewas the "companion car" built and sold by Buick for the 1930 model year. It went on sale June 1, 1929. Many early Marquettes were registered as 29's and selling along side the late 1929 Buicks in showrooms. Even with the market crash of 1929, the Marquette had a fairly strong US production run of 35,007 cars and chassis being produced plus a commonly missed additional 3,117 cars and chassis produced in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada and 301 Cars produced in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada for a grand total of 38,425. Not to bad for a one year "failure"! Unfortunately for the Marquette, it's sales cut into the Oldsmobile market share rather than the Nash, Dodge or DeSoto sales, for which it was targeted. With the end of the 1930 model year the Marquette name faded from existence. The model planned as the 1931 Marquette Eight became the Buick Series 50. Many of the early 1931 Series 50 Buicks carried over a large number of the 1930 Marquette components.
