Car description

Spring will be here before you know it, and what better way to take full advantage of the warmer weather that comes with it than behind the wheel of this 1971 Buick Skylark GS Clone? It's a great looking classic drop top - well dressed in a magnetic exterior color and nicely badged to mirror its Gran Sport predecessors that propelled Buick to a whole new level of popularity back in the '60s and '70s. You... can't help but smile when you see this vintage convertible. It makes a great impression right away with its vibrant red paint - it's an excellent color to begin with and a closer inspection will reveal that it's been very nicely applied, resulting in a great shiny "wet" look and a consistently smooth texture. Up front, the combination of the flat silver headlight casings and trim on the front of the hood provides a subtly custom appearance. The deletion of the rocker panel trim shows off the paint to full effect and allows the GS badging on the front fenders to really pop. The exterior alignment looks very strong on this classic - the body contours line up nicely and the doors, hood and deck lid open and close very smoothly. Should threatening weather approach, the power black convertible top is in very nice condition - it features a nice, clear rear window, shows no pronounced pressure marks and is ready to rise into place for protection. Inside the doors, the interior has been refurbished in black vinyl while retaining a thoroughly factory appearance. There's a lot to like here - the bench seating in both front and back has a fresh look to it that's matched by the door panels to each side, while just underneath the black carpeting also appears to have been replaced not all that long ago. The pad running across the top of the dash shows no cracking and sits nice and level and the branded steel steering wheel really adds to the overall look. Factory air conditioning on a convertible wasn't all that common when this Buick first took to the streets, but it's on board here and working great. This is a nice looking vintage interior and plenty ready for action as is, but some well-placed attention - nothing all that major - will really take it over the finish line and make it a top-notch driving environment. Underneath the hood, everything retains a consistently stock appearance and is in good order. The 350 cubic inch V8 holding court in the engine compartment still carries its 4-barrel carb and intake manifold and starts right up and runs strong as it pairs with a 3-speed automatic TH350 transmission to make for a driving experience that won't leave you dreading stop and go traffic. To bring it up to modern standards, the air conditioning has been converted to R134a refrigerant - always a big plus in classics like this one. With featured power steering and power brakes with discs in front, navigating and stopping this Buick is a low effort affair as it cruises on its set of 14" stock Buick wheels with gloss black centers that really look nice against the backdrop of the exterior and are wrapped with Hankook tires. Running strong and looking sharp, this 1971 Buick Skylark GS Clone holds the promise of plenty of fun-filled open-air motoring. Call today!
