Car description |
---|
Here's a pretty rare 1954 Buick Special 2dr sedan with the stick shift 3 speed transmission, not the Dynaflow automatic transmission.
It is a mostly original car that never needed restoration.Last year the Buick was repainted, the seats were redone, the bumpers were rechromed and a bunch of service and mechanical work was done to get the car up and running again after years of storage. The paint job is not a $10.000 paint job but one good enough for a driver and possible for local car shows. The headliner is almost 65 year old and it is in good condition but it does have some stains, door panels are original and nice and the seats were just recovered.
The odometer shows a little over 64.000 miles and it is believed to be correct but we have no way of guaranteeing that of course.
The licence plates have nothing to do with the car, previous owner found Minnesota plates from 1954 and installed them and they will go with the car but, it is not a Minnesota car, as far as I know it is a Texas car.
Since the Buick is unrestored it is not a perfect car at all. It's a very good running and driving car that can be used exactly as you see it now but please don't compare it with a car that has had $25.000-$50.000 worth of restoration work done!
The white wall tires have lots of thread left but they are somewhat dry so for longer drives I would install a set of radials personally. The Special has a good running engine, transmission, good front end, good brakes, things like the carburetor, starter etc are all in good working order.
The Buick is stored at our restoration shop in down town Phoenix where it can be seen Monday through Friday. We do encourage inspection before bidding and buying!
PLEASE NOTE: we are moving our restoration shop and the Buick is on eBay with a very low reserve, a lot less than I have turned down for the car only months ago. We'd like to sell it rather than move it!
And lastly PLEEEEESE do not bid unless you are willing and able to pay should you be the winning bidder.
A $2000 deposit is due within 24 hours through Paypal and the balance is due within 7 days.
We have been selling and exporting old cars from our restoration shop in Phoenix for the last 33 years so export is never a problem!
