Up for auction is a very rare one of a kind 1940' Buick Series 90 Limo Hot Rod.
Limo was originally purchased (see pic) in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1986
and it had 34,000 miles showing on the odometer. The car was shipped to their
residence where in 1988 it was disassembled and they started to build his
dream hot rod. This particular model Limo came with 2 jump seats, but did notcome with a divider window. Frame was boxed from the drivers seat forward tobuild strength. Special transmission and engine mounts were built and installedto handle the balanced, rebuilt 455 engine and rebuilt turbo 400 trans. Has
a 4 core Walker radiator with electric fan. Up front is a independent rack and pinion
front end. Rear end is a rebuilt 9" Ford matched with NASCAR lateral bars due to
the weight of the car. In stock form the weight was about 4,600 lbs. Power steering,
power brakes and 2 (front and rear) A.C. were added. It cruises very nicely at 70 mph. Inside it has a tilting and telescoping steering wheel. The interior is wool mohair
Packard-style upholstery, gray with blue tones and stripes. The trunk is lined with
wool melton carpet as is the rest of the car. The 2 sunroofs were installed, (front
is a manual from a VW bug and the rear electric from a Toyota) and both look
factory! Body work was completed and paint was with Ditzler pearl white over
blue. All the chrome and stainless were powder coated in a 83 Riviera blue which
matches the blue entire undercarriage was painted. Boyd mag wheels with Perilli
light truck tires were installed (tires are out of date, show no cracking but would
not want to get on the interstate for to many miles). It was finished in 1990 and
does have some paint chips from the road. Don't miss out on this rare, one of akind vintage hot rod!
Limo has won many awards over the years and still turns heads! We are selling this Limo for a friend who a has been a life long Buick collector.
Has a free and clear title from Minnesota, insured and drivable.
Stored in the garage during winters since 1995 was in storage in N.C. and
Arizona with the exception of being taken out for a day here and there.
