1953 Buick THREE Owner Family Car
- The first owner bought the car in 1953 and for unknown reason stored the car for approximately 32 years.
- The second owner purchased the car from his cousin in April or May of 1999. He started restoring the car in June of 1999.
- The bottom half of engine and the transmission was rebuilt by a specialist. Original6 Volt System. Electric Fuel Pump was installed. Dash and Trunk have not been changed or restored. They are still original. Clock works but has been disconnected. The car was completed in March 2001. In June the car was taken on a tour “Chrome on the Range” at Rimrock, AZ. At that time there was a problem with the gas tank. It was flaking off sediment from buildup. An in line fuel filter was installed. After the tour was completed and we arrived back home, the gas tank was removed sent off to be coated with a fuel resistant coating. No further problems. In 2002 the car was taken on a tour to New Mexico and there were no problems.
- The present owner inherited the 1953 Buick in late 2002.
- Entered a Car Show in 2006 and won “Second Place” in 1950 to 1959 Class.
- To our knowledge, the only thing that needs attention is the Radiator. It started to heat up this summer and probably needs to be flush out.
