Car description

Original 1967 GS 400 numbers matching, stock, restored car in show condition. Absolutely beautiful!!

Car comes with original 400 cubic inch (6.6L) big-block Buick V-8 engine with 340 horsepower and 440 ft. lbs. torque, original four barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburetor, dual exhaust, 2.93 posi-traction rear end, three speed turbo Super Turbine 400 automatic transmission (revered as the finest automatic transmission ever built, and commonly called the Turbo Hydramatic 400), the unique ‘Star Wars’ air filter cover, and 14 inch Rally wheels. This is an original car with 111,219 miles. The car is numbers matching (see photos of data plate and engine block casting numbers). Has always been garaged.

Purchased this 67 GS 400 from a fellow Buick collector in Arizona, and completed restoration of mechanics and interior. The original engine has been rebuilt to specs less than 500 miles ago.A few interior areas have been finished (e.g. repaired the steering wheel to remove a crack, repaired the original radio, and recovered in vinyl the original front arm rests). Moved to Albany, New York last year and the car has been in storage or garaged since. Don’t drive it enough and the car needs to be driven.

Previous owners had it repainted in the original color 13 years ago. The paint work is show-quality, and all panels are arrow straight. The panel fit is excellent, and the doors and windows close with perfect alignment. The vinyl top was also replaced at the same time, along with all of the door and window weather stripping.

The underside is absolutely clean, with no signs of rust, salt, or moisture damage. Had small areas of rust on body mounts and body panels behind the rear tires repaired. The car appears to have never been disassembled, wrecked, or abused in any way. It has the solid, rattle-free ride of a preserved original car.

The interior is new and looks fantastic (new upholstery by Legendary, color number 240G– Metallic Parchment). The seats, door panels, rear armrest covers, package tray, headliner, sail panels, sun visors, carpet, and car mats have all been replaced with accurate reproductions. The front arm rests have been recovered professionally in matching vinyl. The original dash pad is in perfect condition. The car is equipped with factory AC, AM radio with the (uncommon) rear speaker.

Starts easily, idles well, and runs cool, even in heavy traffic. The brakes work well, and are equipped with aluminum drums in the front. The transmission shifts well in all gears. The suspension feels tight, with great handling.

Minor flaws:

· Trunk floor has been sanded and painted in original spatter finish, but still has some pitting from previous surface rust. It is original and solid, however.

· The front plastic original grill has a few small hairline cracks.

· The interior paint on upper doors, near where door closes has some scratches, although paint is original.
